It has been seen that, in ODI day and night matches, toss is an important factor to win the match. So,in the age of competion/profession, performance is important rather than luck.If toss factor decides the result, then the privilege, every team get. In other games, like football, One who wins the toss, he has the first option to decide his game and after the interval, it reverses. So, in cricket, when a series is being played, the first match should be played with the toss principle. Then, rest of the series, preferences should be alternative. That means, if Team A choose his first mathch to bowl/bat by winning the toss, the next match to be kept open for Team B and it should be carried on through out the series. So that, every team has equal chance of decides his fate.Sometimes, toss favours a single team always and it does not test actual potential of a Team. Particulary, in day/night matches, dew is a main factor, for that only, who wins toss, he bats first, without any second thought. If we take a review of ODIs day/night, we must, come to a conclusion that the Team, who won the toss, he won most of the matches.
Cricket is a team game. Chappelis responsible for disintegrating the Team India which was a well knit unit till he took over the reins. The same players which had taken the Team India to Final in the WC 2003 could not take the team to the Super 8 in the WC 2007. The coach who also took up the role of over all manager for the team, is sqarely responsible for this and owes an explanation. It is a different matter that the BCCI is run by such docile Indians who are not used to challenging white skinned people and wd rather find fault with themselves. When the aussies has manhandled Pawar then too Pawar did not express anguish and this attitude was called greatness in our media.

Dear gentleman,
Greg Chappel is a great coach. Due to the pressure created by the media, and the opinion of a few, we have lost a good coach. The loss is ours and the Australian Cricket Academy has gained him now. He is a great coach, and doesnt require any certificate from anyone for his cricketing skill, as he belongs to a family of great crickets like Ian, Trevor, etc.
You must agree that collectively our team has disappointed us. Poor batting, poor bowling, poor fielding, poor running between the wickets, poor fighting spirits, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, giving too many extras while bowling, etc. have all contributed to our failure. We need to address all these issues squarely and come out of it asap. Blaming Greg for all these, is simply immature.
We must come out of racial thinking, and treat people based on merit and results. That way I feel foreign coaches like Greg, John Wright, Bob Woolmer, Dhav Whatmore, etc have all made good coaches, than our own people. They have the courage to call a spade a spade, irrespective of the status of the player, whereas our people don't do so for fear of losing their jobs.
chapell is not responsible.senior players are responsible.they don't have feeling of patriotism.they just are moneyminded that's it. actually they are not at all concerned about india and its public's emotions

Hockey is not having money or advertisement.. that's the reason.. we have world class players in HOCKEY..
the Only problem is that you are jealous of their money.. which they earn for less period.
My request to all of you out here, plz write to BCCI instead of writing here and wasting ur time, ideas, anger, and energy. Because nor rediff.com or its readers can do anything except reading and criticising the topic. By writing to BCCI you can provide them some good suggestion so that BCCI can come up with necessary changes and policies and let them know what actually we indians think about our team, where they are lacking and what measures should be taken to improve it conditions and act as matured indians...... Regards Abs
Just collect the figures for the no. of hours our players : 1) practice the game each day 2) go to gym each day 3) devote time for advertisements 4) join in internal politics of BCCI
You will find that naturally 90% of the time they spend for sr nos. 2,3 & 4 above. The remaining 10 % is only when they are playing the match.
the results are here. a dismal performance and that too to be beaten badly by bangladesh.
RE:Chappel : A trainer can only train. But cannot guarantee the trainee shall perform

That BS Nagarwalaji. Chappell is NOT the TRAINER......he is the TEAM COACH! Kapish? A Team Coach is responsible for the outcome of the results, just as the captain is! PLUS your stats are incorrect. The cricketer who indulged in politics was DRAVID along with coach CHAPPELL!
The players definetily can not escape responsibility for the teams poor show but then neither can the coach. If he is not influencing the performance of the team in a positive manner (let alone the talks abounding of the coachs negative influence) this it self is a strong case for the coach (Greg Chappels) exit. What is the point of engaging a coach who over a period of 4 years can only look back at one debacle after another without bringing any change. What is the rationale for such a passenger to continue to be with the team ?
