Toss factor in ODI
by on Feb 25, 2008 08:53 AM

It has been seen that, in ODI day and night matches, toss is an important factor to win the match. So,in the age of competion/profession, performance is important rather than luck.If toss factor decides the result, then the privilege, every team get. In other games, like football, One who wins the toss, he has the first option to decide his game and after the interval, it reverses. So, in cricket, when a series is being played, the first match should be played with the toss principle. Then, rest of the series, preferences should be alternative. That means, if Team A choose his first mathch to bowl/bat by winning the toss, the next match to be kept open for Team B and it should be carried on through out the series. So that, every team has equal chance of decides his fate.Sometimes, toss favours a single team always and it does not test actual potential of a Team. Particulary, in day/night matches, dew is a main factor, for that only, who wins toss, he bats first, without any second thought. If we take a review of ODIs day/night, we must, come to a conclusion that the Team, who won the toss, he won most of the matches.
