One more serious issue is imports from China... This is cursing indian manufacturers a lot. People are misleaded by throwing cheaper goods which has a cheap price tag. Quality we all know.
So if Delhi has guts it should stop all imports from China or should levy such huge taxes so that importers has to think about it.
But No...Govt will increases taxes on Petrol..But it cannot do the same for imports.
Why should india import when we are capable enough to produce whatever required..
Pls Frenz...bring this issue in front of all..This is cursing our economy.

India is NOT known to be a low-tarrif country. Yet ur home-made products still can't compete with low-price, good-quality Chinese goods. The americans and the europeans don't buy Chinese produce beacause they are pro-China. On the contrary, most of them are brainwashed by the likes of CNN and BBC, and are anti-China. Yet they can't buy enough of Chinese staff. Economics rule!

Most of the products that CHina makes are made directly or indirectly using foreign technology or foreign capital. The labor is chinese.
China has got the best leadership i have seen so far. I would like to have strong friendships with chinese.they are not enemies as that 1960s have passed thru long before .Now we are living in 2008 and we need there support in achieving our dreams. As of now China is a superpower and a highly advanced economy. I fully support Chinese Crackdown on Tibetans mongers who are invloved in rioting,looting and killing innocent citizens.Indian government has done a great job by supporting Chinese in their hour of need and controlling anti China protests in India.

It is strange that no one here seems to have suspected this person to be Chinese. The name is Indian but the language gives the game away. Not all Indians write good english but their bad english is different from the bad english of the chinese - it is easy to tell them apart. The chinese are clearly working on Indian sites such as rediff.

Do remember that making friends with the local rowdy may appear profitable in the short term but leads to a permanent problem in the longer term. Your views that Chinese are not the enemy of India is wishful thinking, not backed by current events as they have unfolded in recent times. You may want friendship with China but they have eyes only to annexe more and more territories belonging to other nations.

India did not occupy Kashmir. Hari Singh signed an instrument under which he sought India's intervention when attacked by Pakistan. Dalai Lama is no Hizbul commander. Dalai Lama does not operate a terrorist camp in India. He runs a temple, the refugees are educated and unlike Hizbul commander Dalai Lama has been awarded Nobel peace prize for non-violence. India's action can be best described as "not serving its own interest". Tibet is a vital buffer zone between India and China. By taking hands off approach India acts submissive and they seem all set to nod in affirmative to the Chinese claim of Arunachal Pradesh. Respecting Mr.Raghavan's thought, I must say I wholesome don't agree with you although in the passing I must say, you sound more like Chinese arguing in the interest of China.

Let's stop this mistake. Kashir, Pakistan are historically India's part in terms people, land and heritage.
Tibet has been always a separate country, it trouced China for many centuries in military wars. Its people are not chinese, they are ethnically different.
It was our idiot Nehru who helped to illegally connect Tibet to China.
So my appeal stop people who are comparing tibet and kashmir. I think they are: 1) misguided secularists 2) chinese posting using Indian names

Raghavan, You have lost intellectual capacity to think when you compare Kashmir/Assam etc. to Tibet. By doing that you have also lost your patriotic credentials. Tibet was a buffer between the rogue China and a democratic India. And you want China to "have it's cake and eat it too". How about writing for India's interests for a change, where you write what India will gain or loose b following a aprtivular policy.
The least India could have done at this point in this whole Tibet mess is to condemn Chinese brutality, filthy language use for Dalai Lama and prod them to talk. Of course, best and just outcome for everyone is an independent Tibet. But then.....
