Admiral Gorshkov or INS Vikramaditya was an aircraft carrier of the Russian Navy. this is the ship you are referring to. this carrier is getting upgraded to the every dollar worth of $1.5 billion. there were delays on both sides due to many problems but the capability of this ship would be equal to the best in the world once the upgrade is over by 2009

Instead of looking at China and barking, India should learn many things from China to see how Chinese leaders are bringing china into super power level. Send all cong/BJP leaders to china for one year atleast, let them learn how development can be achieved in India.

what you are referring is to former USSR. that's long gone. its because of the obvious reasons like Cold War and its economy. look at the present Russia now. it is much better and super strong. if you read about Chinese they depend so much on Russians. mostly for energy and defense.
now interesting angle is try to imagine what if Russia and China become best buddies? EU is almost dependent on Russia for its energy requirements. Russia kicked out Saudi Arabia few years back to become largest exporter of Oil and Gas in the world. its obvious that Russia will have closer ties with China and EU. now can you imagine where does US and India would fit into in in such a multi polar world? give it a try. I gave similar exercise to my students
