Why don't the Sikhs design a new kind of helmet?
by Kumar on Mar 08, 2008 04:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why don't the Sikhs design a new kind of helmet that has more space on the top? Why waste time in fighting for silly things? If these guys think Canadian laws are unjust, how about they move back to India? Then they will really know what an unjust law really is, India will allow you to ride without wearing a helmet, but the corrupt municipal office will demand bribe for issuing a death certificate to a widowed woman. My adivise to this guy is to go visit and pray inside a Gurudwara every day that the God gave him a chance to escape the chatioc, unjust, noncompassionate, corrupt and castiest country of India.

human life is supreme, monotheism must take a back seat
by Pradip Parekh on Mar 08, 2008 03:35 AM  Permalink

this case is really not so bad. surely some one can come up with a design of helmet that can go over the turban and keep these good folks in good humor. the discrimantion would be if the helmet companies refuse to come out with a good design for the sikhs.

every time there has been a contest between human life and monotheist-religious rights the former has won out in western courts - like it should be; and unlike in indian courts where things are upside down, stacked up against the voice of reason, which means voice of the hindus, of course.

eg, the western courts have ruled against the monotheist prents' refusal to let their children receiving blood transfusion. another one is a catholic pharmacist's religious-refusal to dispense birth control pills to a patient. or a muslim cabbie refusing a ride to alcohol toting (not drinking) passengers. monos are fighting a losing battle against progressing world as hubble telescope has proved that heavenly father and alla - along with the trillions of dead monotheists - no longer occupy any space in the skies.

Question to someone learned in Sikh Laws
by Gautam Sinha on Mar 07, 2008 02:00 PM  Permalink

This is a question which is not to be taken otherwise. Tying the Kesh with turban only - is the reason for this Sikh law so that pomp is avoided while covering hair? If so, can the Granthis allow Sikhs to take off turban and wear helmets while riding two wheelers so that spirit of law is maintained while our Sikh brothers remain safe?

Cheating

Sikh in Canada should not demand something which is not canadian. When in India itself you cant demand something against that state, how can you do that in Canada.

You can not demand that in Maharashtra itself.

In India Sikh are allowed to carry their Kirpans in banks where all weapons are not allowed. Sikhs in India do not wear helmets if they have the bigger version of the turban. Leave aside question of Maharashtra, here the Sena itself supports the demand of not wearing helmets at will for Marathi folks only (happened in Pune only), why bother the Sikhs beforehand? BTW your statements are aimed at divisions based on region, you are a Porkistani agent

Badesharm ki baat hai
Baljinder ko kehna padta hai
Jab baal badhaye aur turban bandhwayee
Tab helmet nahi thee
Is liye baal badhaye aur turban bandhwayee
Ab helmet hai
Tow Court jaake yeh parinaam paake
Sab Sikh bhai behana ki pole khulwayee.
