Why P.M.should resign?
by Bishwa NathSingh on Jun 20, 2008 02:44 PM  Permalink

Truly speaking, none of the political parties want Parliamentary Election to be held soon after fall of the Union Govt. lead by Dr.Singh after withdrawing support of Left Parties. All of them want that the UPA lead Union Govt.& Parliament should complete its full term including left parties as well. So, all the stalwarts of UPA lead Union Govt.will try to find ways & means hard for it and see that nuclear deal issue may defer for time-being till they find ways & means to save the prestige of the UPA lead Union Govt. as well as deal issue too. Nevertheless to mention, it is an old saying that let stick not be broken & snake dies. It is the same thing that the politicians will do. Let us wait & watch its outcome!

Manmohan Singh Will not Bend His Knees This Time
by Pradip on Jun 20, 2008 02:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Manmohan Singh is an international scholar and a statesman of very high caliber. He can adorn much coveted positions in any university or financial institution in the world. He put the country through a high trajectory of growth, he is working on the distribution side, give him some time to resolve the complicated dynamics of hose pipe effect. Country should not allow getting rid of him due to certain ideological Jehadis and unscrupolous elements. OH KISIKA SAMNE GHUTNA NEHI TIKENGE. Why should he. At this moment he is showing his resolve and might, undeterred as he is, WISH HIM BEST WISHES.

Being sober does not mean he is coward, sometimes silence speaks better, he focused on growth, he achieved that, given time he will do his best for the distribution as well. We are used to identify politicians with HARANGUE AND THAT IS WHAT WE EXPECT ALL BEHAVING THE SAME WAY. Lets kick out those SHORE-SHARABA IN THE PARLIAMENT AND ELECT PEOPLE WHO BEHAVE PROPERLY AND UPHOLD THE BANNER OF DEMOCRACY AND INDIAN TRI COLOUR. The arrival of people like Dr Singh, Dr. Kalam in Indian politics ia a welcome sign. Parliament me Buddhi ki jang ladi jati, kusti ki akhara nehi hai oh.

PM Resignation
by abdul wahid on Jun 20, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink

Even though I am a supporter of congress, I feel Dr. Manmohan singh is the worst PM we ever had. The inflation raising above 14%. PM and FM are not able do anything, as they stooges of US. Centainly our economy will collapse like Mexico, if we do not design our policies independent of US.

PM should quit over nuclear deal,. not inflation
by Siddhartha Banerjee on Jun 20, 2008 02:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

People you have to understand that the infaltion curremtly taking place is due to the ever rising cost of crude which is affecting markets and economies world over not just in India. In fact our PM is farsighted and has realised that an energy crisis may be in the offing.Which is why he wants to go in for the nuclear deal which will ensure a lot of independence from coal and crude in power generation. The PM has terrific vision of the future and I think we should respect him for that. You say that the nuclear deal will make us dependent on the U.S but right now we are dependent on Saudi Arabia, etc. for our crude aren't we. Moreover the Govt. aren't fools and I am sure that the U.S. will have minimum control over out Nuclear installations. Also we need not go to U.S. for fuel, there are several countries in the NSG (nuclear suppliers group) and eventually with tech. we will be able to utilise the vast nuclear fuel reserves which we already have.

Excuse me, if inflation is because of crude oil price rise, how will it come down by going in for nuclear deal?

Price of Coal is not going up. Our cars, buses, trucks, trains, mopeds, Autos, taxis, planes will still run on oil...
So we will still be dependent on Saudi Arabia etc., won't we?
And by the way, you are doing cyclic arguments - our government aren't fools so the US will have minimum control over our nuke installations... :-)
And also by the way if there are several countries in the NSG or whatever, then why the heck do you want to sign this particular deal in the first place?... Go to open market and buy it (if that's so easy)..

:-)

and price of coal is not going up right now (it may in future)
however coal being used now for power gen. can be diverted to synth. naphtha prod. plants
so it will reduce our oil imports , do u get it ?

Yeah.. you have a point there. But tell me, why do you think US doesn't have any nuclear power plants installed after 1980? There power requirements are decreasing I take it..

Whereas Russia proved the efficacy of nuclear power through Chernobyl very admirably, ain't it?

chernobyl and 3-mile were rude shocks to Russia and USA, but tech. is much improved now.In case u read yesterdays papers, in Poland or France or some place they are building this huge nuclear power plant and EU has welcomed this decision although earlier they used to be against nuclear power plants. It is a mega project employing the latest tech. and has been seen as a positive measure by all. Plus U.S. has lotsof oil too. they have Iraq u know

RE:PM should quit over nuclear deal,. not inflation

nothing wrong with them too. hydro electricity destroys forest lands and is dangerous in earthquake prrne areas. wind energy is clean, same with solar, tidal. we have to invest in these for sure along with nuclear, multi pronged startegy. nuclear yields are very high - even by products can be reused for further power generation. only safety has to be double-treble sure.
