Before anyone jumps in to object I am NOT defending Rajkumar.. But in India, there is a practice of keeping male servants (typically in their 30s), who are expected to round up in a servant's quarter with little exposition to consensual sex. The problem is compounded because all they see is Hindi movies with sleazy scenes and skimpy heroines. Of course they can visit brothels but that costs given the money these people get.. So what remains are the innocent girls like Aarushi to suffer. Unless we handle the root cause of such social malaise and become a socially progressive society, such things will continue to happen from socially repressed individuals.
Again, I am not defending Rajkumar. He should be given the utmost punishment.

why talk something else ? thats for another day to discuss, why go on and on about some third party who doesnt even figure in the case! this case is going to be rigged badly. first - the cops destroyed the evidence.
next no father would want their killer to be exonerated! why did they hurry up the post mortem and cremate the body in a hurry ? the case reeks of a coverup.
It is futile to blame people like the UP police when we have a structure that favours incompetent, spineless buffoons to rise to the top.
We give unbridled power w/o accountability to our politicians. Institutions are encouraged to protect them. Remember the hawala case, the St.Kitts case, the fodder scam case, and .......... Poor Lakhubhai Pathak died in bringing a top politician to book. These politicians play hell with the institutions to serve their vested interest. Look at the consequence: Our culture is in a shambles.
What culture can we claim when we incarcerate a grieving father and destroy him on suspicion by buffoons seeking a scapegoat? I am not saying Dr.Talwar is innocent. I do not know the facts. But our culture should have prevented us from draconian action w/o solid evidence. Once the evidence gathers by all means book him but then we are dealing with an aberration and not a father.
It is notable that not one politician or party spoke up for the concept of the father. And they seek to be called leaders!
I pray Aarushis death will not be in vain. It is time we insist on protection of our institutions.

On the dot! Well said.
If the parents are innocent, which seems to be the fact, no one can compensate them for the trauma they have undergone apart from the loss of a loved one.

By Vishu: It is good to know that CBI has progressed in Aarushi case and now a new character Shambu has come to life in this suspense tinged real life drama with the revelation by Krishna. Why would an educated Doctor allow his servant quarters to be used as a Den. What else is it but a den if 3 men(2domestic helps 1compounder) meet in servant quarters and have beer? And have access to the daughter’s room? Whom to believe and whom not to? Nupur had told categorically on NDTV that she her husband and her daughter were the only 3 people in their house on the night of murder. Krishna claims that Rajkumar killed Aarushi. If so, did the doctor couple notice nothing unusual? Wouldn’t the Talwars have heard Aarushi’s ‘screams for help’? And lastly, why are the Durrani’s so much in focus. Anita Durrani was said to have some relationship with Dr.Talwar, now the servant of Durrani Rajkumar is involved. The maid at Talwar’s house has reportedly told that she found the front door of the Talwar’s locked. Everything seems very mysterious and unusual and strange and most of all ‘Weird!’

Suraj everything seems very mysterious and unusual and strange and most of all ‘Weird! because of the media. India the media is so free they just come to conclusion from the hearsay and jeopardize the whole investigation and to top it the incompetent police, Of course even though the parents are innocent I will bot absolve them of their responsibility towards their children's safety
RE:The implications
by Your Persona on Jun 19, 2008 01:03 AM Permalink
Absolutely right! The media lacks accountability and hasten to blow up and report any iota of information they get. CBI does not speak to them, so they watch each time CBI officials step out and seem to be searching for something in the drains, and the news report next day goes, "CBI searches for weapons in futile. Although the case was handed to CBI because the Noida police messed it up, they too seem to be doing a poor job solving the case."

true, the media has gone overboard, but imagine if not for the media - this would have been conclusively and summarily bundled and closed by now and some third party blamed. right now - the talwars have a lot to explain - they have said so many stories - each unique!

exactly, so many holes in the story, and the cbi wants us to come up with some bull that they want to feed! sheesh, the cops can be SO incompetent and corrupt!
It is known in NOIDA that Dr Talwar would lock the slain girl every night. How did they alleged rapists/murderers break the lock? How can India progress if there is no law and order?

Why always CBI is involved in complex cases. Either state police is not capable enough to handle such cases or they have no powers. Every time CBI comes in picture and eventhough its late it keeps the hopes alive for innocents.
The great minister of child welfare has already made it clear that she doesnt want to hear anything against a slain child, which leaves CBI fully aware of the fact that even thought talwar may be the main culprit they can not prove so because they can not point out the motive as to why a father killed her daughter, no one is moron enough to believe that in a 2X2 house like jalvayu vihar people can kill half of the residents with the other half not even knowing what happened. They are trying to save talwar and that is because of the direct pressure from this union minister, I mean how can a minister speak about a case when the investigations are going on? If the investigating agencies found out something about the girl or the father they have to use it in the court and obviously it will leak to the press. This new twist is simply to placate the ministers stand and let talwar go scott free.

pehle bolna chahiye tha yaar ... faaltu mein cbi itnaa pasina baha diye :(
I find this case very, very puzzling. Have you noticed how high profile cases in Delhi take twists and turns and servants are blamed? Exxample Nithari.
RE:Mumbai police would have solved it
by raj on Jun 19, 2008 12:08 AM Permalink
absolutely. new trend in absolving rich and powerful owners. first ploy destroy evidence. next, make the case difficult to solve. and conveniently blame it on servants. its always there. ask any rich family, the condition under which a driver is kept - in case of an accident, the driver has to own up under any circumstance to protect the owner!
well, the cops have taken this to another level. when it was so clear that the cops were botching it up - why dont the cops get docked for covering up the case or destroying evidence ?

also, i'd smell a dead rat in our compound - how is it that the owner in nithari couldnt smell the rotting corpses ?

@raj,
Don't you feel surprised that the neighbours too did not smell the dead corpses? What do you have to say?
Let us not blame CBI. We know they have poor reputation when it comes to cases of politicians. But, why should they bend in cases involving common citizens, may be somewhat rich citizens?
