Some bad thoughts
by Attract Ivist on Jul 23, 2008 08:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think this article is not a well thought of one. It lacks the depth and sounds more like a media sensalization.
1. Dr. Singh hardly makes any decision and he is controlled by Ms. Gandhi. Dr. Singh is a noble man, who himself admitted that he owes a lot to gandhi family and specially to Indira Gandhi. He doesn't have a strong enough political background (electroral politics) to be a PM and he is at Ms. Gandhi's mercy. Promoting him as a strong leader is a congress propaganda.
2. Once again Congress has shown that when it comes to the question of sticking to power, they can go to any extent, like partying with communists or stinky fellows like amar singh. They blame Karat and co. now for economic meltdown of the country. Didn't they betray people of india by joining hands with communsts justto hang onto power?
3. Let me now sound like an astroleger, but I'm sure Amar singh/SP and Congress honeymoon is not going to last long. Congress will soon start blaming SP that they couldn't parsue many economic policies just because of pressure from SP and try to prove that congress is the only party which thinks of national interest.
4. It's stupid to debate if Ms. Sonia Gandhi is pro-leberal. Congress's socialistic approach screwed up the country for 50 years. Liberalization has given our country some space to breath. It will be suicide to stop it at this point, irrespective of her wish. Infact communists are attracting investors into west bengal and kerala.
5. Ms. Sonia Gandhi an

1) Singh forced Sonia Gandhi. It was entirely his decision to go for the nuclear deal at all costs. He forced Sonia Gandhi's hand in this.
2) BJP too does this. In Karnataka BJP has purchased some congress and JD(S) MLAs
3) Neither will the so-called NDA. Many of them will migrate to UNPA
4) Sonia Gandhi is pro-liberal and it is true that socialistic approach has robbed us of many years of reforms. But you should understand that India had a very high suspicion of anything from west because of its experience under Britain. So it took that long to understand that science and technology and economic reforms were the rise of western dominance and it would be wise for us to emulate.

1. Dr. Singh is a great individual, a man of principle. But as I said eh doesnt have the political genes. As Imran khan said once (I guess about ganguly or shoaib malik), for a leader to be good, he should be able to earn his position in the team based on his performance and that will gain him respect from the team members. Failing to do makes him less confident of his actions and move and a bad leadership. Dr. Singh didnt win any major election in his entire life. He is PM because of Ms. Gandhi and nobody else.
2. Well, this is what I can expect from congress. Congress plays dirty politics, because BJP does too. Congress MPs take bribes, because BJP MPs does too. Congress favours minority, because SP does too. Such justification only shows the lack of morality in the party actions.
3. Socialism did help us to some extent, in the early years of our country. Just because we protected our economy, we have today rich investors/bussinessgroups like tatas, ambanis. But it just came little late. China opened up the economy (being a comunist country) in 80's. We were just late and it shows the lack of vision in congress leadership. Moreover the so called architects of modern india Mr. Singh and Late PV RAO were not encouraged by the bight future ahead to do economic reform. They were forced to to do that, by the depleted forex and a dying and failing economy and refusal from world bank to give any more loan.

1) That is a moot point now.Singh has outwitted Advani Karat and Mayawati so called master politicians. So what else does he need to do ?
2) Corruption is endemic of poor nations. Tell me one poor nation which is not corrupt. Even the so-called rich western countries were once corrupt. As we become prosperous we will become less corrupt. In this scenario corruption sometimes becomes a useful tool to further national interests. As long as we know the decision is taken in national interest means does not matter. Do not compare ourselves with western standards please
3) India were forced to go to Socialism because of two reasons. India distrusted UK because of you know 200 years of misrule by Britain. What do you expect India to be enamoured of UK just after 1947? It takes time to give away all those experiences. Most Indians felt at 1947 that MNCs are exploiters. How can they think otherwise, can you imagine any other country which was run by a MNC(East India company), in such a situation why should India trust western companies. And India were forced to go to USSR because of Bangladesh war in 1971, US sent ships to threaten India. And what should India do ? welcome them with open arms. We were forced to become a close ally of USSR. And also dude tell me one thing which other poor country has instituiotions like IIT, IIMs, space programs. Indian leaders did have vision whatever you say. And by the way MMS knew all along what was required to help Indian economy, but Indians still

distrusted west. So the situation in 1991 was just an excuse. Dont tell me that a world renowned development economist did not know how to energize a poor country like India.Only now with the jobs available from IT industry that Indian concerns about west have abated.
economics does not operate in a vaccum, it operates in political realities of the time.

The nuclear deal or no deal was more of a battle of ego. I'm not sure if the MPs really adressed the merrits or demerrits of the deal. it was all about the fight to bring down the government or to save it.
Money, persuation, cross voting whatever it takes.
finally i was happy that the govt didnt fall.
123 agreement is the best work the UPA Govt have done during their tenure.
US wants india to be an strategic ally. To keep it abreast with chinese threat.which has been compounding all the times (take a cue from the recent hollywood flick The Dark Knight. The US is so much pissed with China's progress, it shows in the movie , when the character harry dent makes a joke of chinese quality)

So a Indo-US deal is welcome. It would help us to generate energy so that by 2020 we may get rid of power cuts, and whats wrong with that.
BJP could not criticize it , because at heart they know it is good for the country. They are just frustrated that they are not the ones who will be signing it .
And i bet this would be their agenda during election'09.

'CONGRESS wins and may lose..- Kudos Ms Sheela Bhatt?
by TV KUMAR on Jul 23, 2008 08:16 AM  Permalink

Rightly said Ms Bhatt for win and loss for the party but the veteran editor has not spoken about the impending crucial issues like Inflation going sky high and long pending aspirations in the minds of Government employees of the Centre to be followed by the States by way of delaying the award of recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. It is stuck up as usual in the bureaucratic wrangle from one committee to second to Groups etc. Mass discontent in the Security Forces and reluctance to join these forces at all levels has not been addressed to.

Two Can Play the Game
by All Right on Jul 23, 2008 08:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

So who to believe what the price is? CPI says Rs 25 crores. BJP even claimed Rs 100 crores. Yet in the drama enacted by BJP, only Rs 1 crore was displayed.

So when a Congress MP defects to BJP - knickerwallahs say no bribes.

When a SP MP defects to BSP, the Commies say no bribe. When Siddique defected to BSP, again no bribe.

When JDS and Lok Dal defects to UNPA, both commies and knickerwallahs rub their hands in glee and say no bribes.

Only when a BJP MP defects to Congress party, then BJP & CPM join together to crow "Bribes, bribes"

Commies and Knickerwallahs should know that two can play any game.

Once the cross-voting pattern comes out, it will be seen that there was equal defection from the UPA to the opposition as the UPA started their floor strength at 275

r u too senile to dream all this up?
amar sing is well known old hand at pimping, extortionoist, so no great deal; but shame on congress to bribe MPs again and again.
and to top it all, the shameless con-men(congress), suggesting the BJP MPs should have gone to police station for FIR !! Imagine a PM influencing CBI, what is the stature of a mearge police station!
the lowest point was to bring the criminals from jail to parliament.
the bribery was so strong, that a lady MP, who didn't have any idea what this whole fiasco was about, went on to say " aaj jab gaon ka har bachha bijli se trast hei...". it is a ridicule on our parliament !! thanks to congress, the parliament is at its lower level.
a MP from Nagaland openly said that he has been promised by UPA that a constitutional amendment will be done according to his wishes if he voted in favour of the govt.
shame on UPA
BJP is a very weak opponent, otherwise UPA didn't have a chance.

We bought few Flesh bags(Indian MPs) for pressing a green button. As we do not require them now, we would like to resell them.

These flesh bags are of no use to us. So it will even cost us to dispose them. Ready to sell at any rate.

It is clear to Indian politicians..I hope

They are going to be ditched by the resource abudant regions such as Middle East. Nuclear fuel can not fuel your economy, nor your enegry sector. Hardly it will serve for 10 to 15% electricity generation. India is going to face big hurdles in future for this UPA government. Take care Indians...It is not simple as Indian politicians think. Present money can not fulfil your future dignity. In the name of improvement you are going to ruin yourself. Now you will come under the clause of climate change abatement strategy. You are forced to abate your emission that will harm your economy. No way USA is supporting you..think this. Do not go into the clause of USa and also nuclear is not safe from any point.

go back to saudi arabia. Only Arabians can speak pro-petrol. Petrol has sucked Indians and all other free nations money. And has enriched Saudis and other crackpots who still live according to 7th century(women cannot drive, cannot talk with men, women cannot work, women cannot vote) India is a free country.

Bad News for BJP - NDA is disintegrating
by All Right on Jul 23, 2008 07:53 AM  Permalink

The BJP was truly in a bind. It could not have the UPA win. That would make a Mayawati victory.

Neither could it let UPA win the trust vote. That would ensure UPA as the frontrunners to win the next Lok Sabha polls.

So what could it do?

It didn't make any efforts to stop its suscept members from defecting to the UPA. On the other hand to camouflague this, it enacted a drame. Smuggled a briefcase of one crore ruppes into parliament and enacted a drama - lowering the prestige of the country in the eyes of the world.

The body language of a deepily distraught Advani summed it all - senile as he is, he knew his dreams of Prime Ministership is smashed.

The BJP ended up as bad losers. From claiming it was the front-runner to winning the next elections, it has been reduced to almost to a also ran fo the next elections. The NDA is disintegrating and most of its constituents would very soon consolidate around the UNPA.
