This Deal is about Dollar bribes. Otherwise this PM does not represent India at all. People are suffering from high inflation, unaffordable house price and rents, unaffrodable medical expenses, lack of job, farmers suicides, but this PM is not at all interested about these pressing proble. He is more interested to 'save his face' to George Bush. Thus George Bush is his real boss and Sonia Gandhi is his deputy boss but the people of India have no meaning for him. Electricity can be produced by 100 different ways, nuclear is not the only option or the cheapest option. Nuclear weapons are much more important, but this PM is very much willing to give up these. This PM is the new Mir Jafar of India.

China has signed as a nuclear weapons state; it does not allow any inspections on its nuclear plants; it if free to do research and to export nuclear materials( as it did to Pakistan). India was asked to sign as a non-nuclear weapons state. This is the real issue.

Why such provocative propaganda you have made? We all knows that because of Bangladesh refugees your party is winning in west Bengal State election also gaining the lok sabha seat. Everybody has a right of expression of thought, But polititians like mayawati and modi think they have right of expression of anything they think that too in a press confrence held at CM's house. And they will come up with some conclusions that it is against islam.And if the deal goes through there is a possibility of communal differences arising which eventually will be used by these polititians. In my opinion these type of statements should be tackeled very seriously and a strict action should be taken against her. In 21st century when US is facing elections with issues like outsourcing and economic growth, our polititians are busy disturbing public sentiments. Be it BJP in jammu or BSP in lucknow.

The main hurdle in the pipeline project is the same Muslim community that she's backing. Electricity generated from n-power is not only for people of a community. Such politicians should be just dumped into the Kooum canal in Chennai. There, they will integrate well with the aquatic inhabitants of Kooum canal.
Maya's analysis is correct. Why is India not taking the Gas deal from Iran when it will cater to our energy resources by 16% ? Why is India going for Nuclear Energy which will maximum only cater to 6% of our energy needs.
Common sense that any country with integrity will go for both these deals instead of playing kow tow to only USA.
Congress is leading this nation down the tube ... they neither have an energy policy nor do they have a definite foreign policy ...

Sanjay, have you also started trusting the Pakistanis like Mr. Bush? The main hurdle is not about policy but about the strategic risk of the pipeline crossing Pakistani soil. It is vulnerable to attacks which will ruin billions of dollars in investment and years of effort. The Pakistanis can never be trusted, no matter who's in charge there. The Iran-India pipeline will only be a reality when Pakistan becomes a part of India (for that we need to wage a war) and chances of that are remote - both the war and pipeline. So forget your numbers about percentage and go back to work. Or better start attending rallied with Mayawati behen who will only remain a dalit and never do anything to uplift their status. Because when the Dalits are uplifted, she becomes irrelevant.
