How can the project be viable if only small ships can use the canal and international big carriers will keep out. Volume of trade handled by Indian small ships between east and west coasts is small and is dwindling; and forecast is also for lower traffic. If the chief strikes a discordant note, Karunanidhi will demand his dismissal. So he has become diplomatic and talks with two voices.

Mr.Vetri, use your brain first.
Till last year, the UPA had to listen to DMK for the govt to continue till 2008 end. (Although DMK demand was an embarrasement to the Congress, it was alliance "dharma" and DMK "demands" that congress had to listen)
This time, with the elections falling in a year time and few blows from the recent elections, Congress can no more afford to lose the general elections for the sake of DMK.

Person like Rehana Khan is much required in our multi religion country. Inter respect between different belives will help country to prosper and live in harmony.
Ram, Ashoka and Akbar should be respected irrespective of religion as they were the best rular of our country. In my view "Akbar" was greatest rular of India till now. He was the first rular to relaize the value of secularisim in a multi religion country.
What Akbar was able to think and impliment at his time as a muslim rular is really surprising and we should not forget his contribution.

Dear ABCL, First go and know what is a military rule?? Then say something. There is a difference between a President Rule and Military Rule. Try to know the differences. The corrupt present politicians should be hanged and a new generation of politicians without corruption and the desire to serve the people in all fields.
People of TN should realise that DMK is bent upon the project only because of bribe. With the kind of money they are spending on the project much better projects could be implemented for the benifit of TN people!

It is clearly understood that the present corrupt DMK region in TN is cheating and misleading the people of TN in the name of Sethu Project and unnecessarily making character assasination on Lord Ram.
So it is clear that the Sethu Project is absolutely a flop. Already the certificate is given by our Naval Chief.
So the next target will be the head of Naval Chief.
With this project there seems to be no profit in any angle? Then why govt is so much stressing on its implementation? Is it for the sake of politicians pockets? If so, just distribute the project money to those politicians and scrap the project. Atleast the environment and water life will be saved from the havoc.

The lost amount in the above said project should be collected from the DMK party which mislead the people of TN.
