Till last year, the UPA had to listen to DMK for the govt to continue till 2008 end. (Although DMK demand was an embarrasement to the Congress, it was alliance "dharma" and DMK "demands" that congress had to listen)
This time, with the elections falling in a year time and few blows from the recent elections, Congress can no more afford to lose the general elections for the sake of DMK.
