RSS should send its volunteers, in rotation, for camps in assam, to help fence off bangladesh from assam, find bangla moslem infiltrators and report them for deportation, to unite all hindus and indiam moslems there in nationalism, and hence ensure that anti-indian chr-isl politicians do not capture the state govt, as they seem to have done now. Your boys should be sent to nagpur for rss volunteer training. Boys there should also be taught assamese, so that they could go to assam in rotation and contribute to ensure survival of hinduism in assam. Sudarshan and Madhavan should take up the matter urgently. .

Think about this.
by true mumbaikar on Feb 15, 2008 03:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Everyone will agree that Maharashtra is still one of the most cosmopolitan states in the country. It was openness of these marathis that let it happen. Now, one needs to seriuosly see what went wrong then. It was, acoording to me, the intentional efforts of North indians to overpower the locals under the name of Chhat Puja. If they would continue to co-exist, there wouldn't be any issue. It's a power game, as everyone is saying. And silencing Raj is not going to solve the issue. The issue is really serious as every Mumbaikar knows it. It's time that there should be some guidlines / code ( not law ) to address this issue in real sense to avoid such incidences in future. Because survival and prosperity of Mumbai is critical for India's future.

Superb reply sir!
Ask him also that how much years it woudl take a person to become a mumbaiker or Indian? By rule of India it takes 5 years to become Indian citizen and my rule of nature it takes just a moment to become child of someone!
They are hack beck but never agree that they have done idiocity and did a sin against the national integrity. Mumbai is not special and the problem is not unique to Mumbai but everywhere where is job. According to him, then all Indians shoudl be thrown out from abroad back to India and globalization of business hould be banned...if Raj thackray woud have really some wisdom he would not have been a 8th drop out..and more over if marathis would have wisdom they would not have committed such crime on the fingerpoint of this uneducated idiot! One by one they themselves are surpassing their idicoty and still unable to recognize it and apologize and improve.

I think garba and dandiya are very popular in Mumbai and again these are celebrated on much bigger scale than chath puja. Then why not you feel that Gujratees are trying to dominate you. Also, are they saying that don't celebrate Ganesh puja which is primarly celebrated in Maharashtra?

If any state want to develop then you have to understand other faiths. Visit, London Heathrow airport and you will find prayer room for all faith.

This is something very subjective - One can feel and smell the intentions when a line is crossed. Afterall there has to be something which led to so much of resentment and anger amongst the localites. I don't think they ( Gujarathis ever wanted to dominate but rather co-exist, and they are enjoying the fruits of the same. I don't think that anybody needs to teach Maharashtrians about how to understand other faiths, that's the part of their philosophy. Truth is alwyas bitter and people have tendency to not accept it - that's what is happening with everybody - Everybody needs to realise that there is serious issue in this and need to address with due respect to localites.

You are right. Marathi is only a shortened form for 'mahaaraashtrian', meaning alliegence to the 'great country', that is hindusthan or bharat maata. Raj and Uddhav should remind themselves of this. They should not show themselves as less nationalistic compared to the really moslem-votebank-based anti-national so-called leaders like mulayam, laalu and paswan, in whose parties, the second-rung leaders are only moslems, bringing islamic funds from countries inimical to india. Obvious from the name of 'Azmi', leader of mulayam's salam-vadi party, also arrested and released on bail.

Feel proud to be INDIAN
by Mohan Kini on Feb 15, 2008 03:51 PM  Permalink

Dear Tarun Vijayji,
Hats off to you for your intelligent, inspirational, eye opening, mind blowing article conveying the message for national integration & Indianness.
I belong to G.S.Brahm community whose origin started from the banks of starting point of Saraswati river in Kashmir. Our community fore fathers had migrated down from there thro' various places (now called states )& finally settled down at GOA.After the entry of Portuguese most of our community people had migrated down further towards south thro'Kokan area of Maharastra & settled dowm in Karnataka & even upto Kerala.I am born, brought up & educated from Karnataka.I very much wanted to see & meet people from other places/states to understand their language, culture.traditions, hospitality etc.Luckily I got a job in one of the Banks from Karnataka & am postedin Gujarat.Eventhough my job was transferable at regular intervals,I did not request to be posted to any particular place. So I continuously worked for the people of Gujarat comprising of Gujaratis,Marwadis,Sindhis,Punjabis,South Indians,Bengalis,Maharastrians,Rajastanis etc.I also got the opportunity of working in Madhya Pradesh.Wherever I worked the people were supportive, understanding & good.So I feel very much proud to be an Indian. All Indians are sons of Indian soil becoz all states are witthin our beloved country INDIA.

Mumbai is Cosmopolitan
by Saheb Rao Nagori on Feb 15, 2008 03:50 PM  Permalink

Like any other metropolis, Mumbai is also cosmopolitan. It is called 1% India for its linguistic diversity. Let's not break the status. The business language is Gujarathi, Corporate language is English, Konkani for coastal settlements and Bombaiyya Hindi for general conversation. The city will never be divided on Marathi. Ever.

India
by Rakesh Verma on Feb 15, 2008 03:48 PM  Permalink

Once upon a time Nawaj Sarif told a news channel on a question "What basic difference you find in India being a stable country and Pakistan a vulnerable country", he said "Democracy". Since the time India have became independant if has followed the path of democracy. And this was the one thing which keep India integrated.
But certainly stund like this can be a greate threate to this integrati. When Hindu, Muslim or something non secular talk comes in picture it spread through out the nation. But even like Raj did will start deviding states, and here lies the seed of Devided Nation. If it is not killed at this moment India may suffer the same situation to which Russia has gone through.
