If they copy our model, they will not be good at CORRUPTION.
They have become exceedingly good at it that they fooled even the USA! Billions drained from USA without any accountability. Now that takes some expertise! If they copy our model of corruption, eventually it will come out! Remember Bofors??
The pak army copyin the Indian actions is a not important, what matters is the edge we have over all others in pour aim of being a regional superpower. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and if the pakis copy us, it means they acknowledge we are better than them.

Oh yeah you are right. Didn't you read yesterday's report about the Israeli's ambassador to India's comment that India had to take Israel's assistance in the Kargil war ?
My heart goes out to the soldiers giving up their lives at the front. They fight for the country and when they become shaheed, the politicians exchange sweets and start bus services and talk of Indi-Pak bhai bhai. And what happens to the families of these shaheeds ? They starve while aluminium coffins are bought and scams are created in the name of honoring these soldiers.Anyone who followed the Kargil war knew that our brave soldiers didnt even have proper snow shoes while fighting. Our airforce wasn't even allowed to strike at the intruders and senior army officials dilly dallied in passing info to the Army hq. Hundreds of soldiers died because of this delay and inaction. And here we are gloating about the fact that Paki army is trying to imitate us. Imitate what - sitting in garage tanks or defective parts bought from Russia which are not even wroth selling in junk ?

this is not just in INdia, it is true everywhere. IN the US (the so called superpower-- economic and military) also soldiers are treated very bad. Many of the war veterans are homeless and they do not even have basic healthcare. It makes me wonder is there any difference between the states and the terrorists-- both use innocent and helpless men for their political purposes with out suitable reward.
Average Pakistani knows more about India than average Indian knows about pakistan or even India for that matter. If we trace the past actions of pakistanis we realize that they have copied what we have done. Their obsession with India almost borders on paranoia. It is not surprising when they say they are not copying us -- because deep down inside they beleive that they are a superior race to Indians... not consideraing the fact that evidence points to the contrary. Carry on Pakis...
Had Pakistan emulated the Indian Army, Its army would have been plagued with ageing equipment, rampant corruption & lac of competent officers to lead it.
This is not to cast aspersions on the bravery of the Indian soldiers who have proved time & again that they are among the best in the world, ever ready to make the biggest sacrifice for our motherland.
My heart weeps when I see the videos of the martyrs' families struggling to make the ends meet. The army gives a martyr's family less than what an IT professional earns in a year.
I pray to the Indian government do something towards making their life less miserable. We can start with giving them 4 times the salary they are getting now. After all, a soldier's contribution cannot be inferior to the contributions of IT professionals & Bankers for our country.
We can do our jobs, businesses & studies only because they protect us.

do not mix monitary matter in this.how much u want to placed a soldier head ?(it is not 4 time or 10 times to there present earning).they are serving for the country and not for it or bankers.yes dont talk a soldier should earn more than president or president salary should be less than clerk.

Please go and tell this to the bereaved families who struggle to make ends meet. Every soldiers life must be valued/insured, monetary well-being of the amry-men should be one of our paramount concerns. You are right in one sense, human life cannot be assigned a number, the service that these brave men and women provide should not be trivialized with the monetary aspect, but life is not always based on golden philosophies. Is it?

Pakistan's biggest problem is corruption of Army officers as well as the incompetence of their officers, their officers are "elite" and removed from their troops, they lead troops from the back and never have any casualties as they are never in the action. So on all these grounds the Pakistani Army is worse off and no amount of modernaisation will help them till they deal with this.

Man - after reading you post I am now CONVINCED that there is NO corruption in the Indian army... ha ha ha. Heard about Ketchup medals, arms scandals and even top officers opposing n' blaming each other in media ? Read about army officers barging into discotheques and misbehaving with women in Kolkata and when the cops take action, the army comes and smashes the cop stations ? Naaaah - the army is the holy cow. Nothing can ever be done wrong by them. Ask the women in Kasmir and Assam who have been raped by the Indian army and then their bodies mutilated. They will tell you that its the Indian army's presence which is a problem not anything else. But why will you guys understand that. Sitting in far away ivory towers in distant lands and shouting pseudo nationalistic stuff - nothing could be further from reality for you guys. lagey raho - today its someone else facing problems, tomorrow it could very well be yours.Till then... enjoy shouting these pseudo patriotic statements.

They are worse at corruption as they are in power, in fact their officers/generals are incapable of being in battle. And whatever the corruption levelofour army,it is still less than that of the police, the pwd, the electricity board and all civilian govt services, funny one did not hear you commenting upon them in your"high corruption" yardstick ?
