Bihar bashing - popular indian mental sport - lynch mob mentality
by KALKI on Feb 03, 2008 09:20 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Most popular indian sport - bihar bashing. shows again a lynch mob mentality of indians. but indians are seen in much the same way by most foreigners as indians see biharis/ bangladeshis. As scum to avoid. Beleve me for I am outside india. And no state is een favorbly against others. If u want to know about punjabis ask canadians or americans, about gujraits and patels, ask americans. Tamils are fomenting terrorism in sri lanka. ask about keralites from the gulf states. Nurses and from kerala are found in every indian hospital. they are so rude that a patient would rather die than take treatment from trhem. Ditto for stenos from kerala who are known for their being truly high-handed.
Punjabis use bihari workers as slaves in punjab. nithari happend in UP but ofenders were punjabis. telgi and harshad mehta were not from bihar. in certain hotels in europe, tehy do not entertain indians and pakis. recently, when my company won acontract in saudi arabia, i asked the clients why they do not consider indian companies. they said because indians argue a lot, claim to know more but work less.
Stop this bashing now and go back to some productive work.
Bihar was not alawys like this. The golden age of india was the gupta period. then, the capital was patliputra, present day patna. bihar was a great center for education in ancient world. like every person, every region/country has god and bad days. Instead of condemning, all should jointly work for overal development.

And what lets me down is India that has one sixth of the world population but hardly wins any medals in Olympics! I feel so ashamed because I am Indian, not because I am Bihari.

Let's stick to this report. Do you agree that students should be allowed to cheat? I find it very preposterous that we are even debating this issue. I would have disqualified all these students and the ones taht caused damage would have been sent to jail.

over reliance on examination
by pallipadi radhakrishna on Feb 03, 2008 09:03 AM  Permalink

Any performance evaluation shall be under field condition. e.g for law students - set up trial courts and bring in all the petty cases languishing for a long time in our courts. Let these law students argue for and against the case under the watchful eyes of seasoned lawers. May be case takes to a logical end and student's performane gets measured. Similary any other stream of students can be taken to the location where their capability can be tested!

Indian education System
by vispy ichhaporia on Feb 03, 2008 08:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I had learnt in my school days E=mc2. I am in media i dont use this equation in my daily life. But if i could'nt answer this equation in me exams I would fail. what I want to say is that our education system is old and not prctical at all. Today a 5 year old carries a bag of books which weighs not less than 6-7 kgs. Is education defined by quantity or quality?

When did you finally take decision to become lawyer? System cannot teach you skills until you decide to. There are plenty of courses offered after 10th (which is and should be bare minimum academic qualification to take on any stream). Parents and sometimes students adopt streams which provide good earning potential in future rather than taking one which justifies their own skills. It is not system's problem. It is a problem related to greed of individuals and thus heavy expectations. Systems has all the courses to offer right from ITI.

I think you are ill informed... the minimum qualification for one to enter the stream of their choice is atleast 12th Std or a graduate.

So what is that you wanted to convey? You would have started learning journalism in the school itself.

Problems are to be identified. Abut, talk about the solutions also. Dont brood over the problems only.

Not learn journalism but atleast let students know what journalism is???
Please don't reply unless and until you have not understood what one wants to convey
And for your kind information... there is a great person named Prof. Yashpal he has recommended sea changes in our education system...his idea is to make our educational system based on practicality and theory.

The shame of copying in Examination
by ramaswamy sunderrajan on Feb 03, 2008 08:37 AM  Permalink

It is a shame that those who are expecting to protect law later in life by becoming advocates insist on using unfair means to acquire the required qualfication.Instead of being subjected to the difficulty of copying the examination itself can be dispensed with. Degrees/ Diplomas can be given after efflux of the rescribed period of time. The present anger is due, apparently, to the denial of a privillege they were enjoying all these years. It s clear now how the degrees/diplomas were obtained from educational institutions of Bihar all along. The present Govt needs to be commended for the tough stand it is taking against the attempt to debase education.

Moral of people
by Govinda on Feb 03, 2008 07:57 AM  Permalink

Moral has been deteriorated in ages due to the Leaders who do not have moral get elected, they spoil the system from root, and the slow poisioning is to such an extent that one does feel ashamed to cheat in examination. Need strict control on this unless quality of candidates will get totaly lost. Rule will be of gangsters and gundas will teach moral and form new rules.
