People need to change mind set
by Jayaram A on Aug 19, 2008 01:14 AM  Permalink

First casteism should do in India. People have dignity of labor and manual work is not respected.
Once we eradicate this, Govt should put all the people to work - build roads, infrastructure, health care for all people. To do this, we need a dozen sincere leaders who are above caste, creed and religion.

hah ...praising nrn and premji
by Abhi Bhat on Aug 19, 2008 12:23 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

nrn and premji are just like the copper wires which just drain the energy generated at the terminals. No one realizes how difficult it was to build the gold plated terminals at the first place. Without the high dollar-rupee exchange rate and inablity of govt to stop free flow of dollars in indian economy, nrn would be still driving scooter and selling wife's jewellery. He took advantage of loop hole in economy and termed it as GLOBALIZATION. My hairy behind!
Stupid country Stupid leaders like this.
The only thing i can acknowledge is his simple living. He is just not the high thinker. Yes nrn do keep on widening the gulf between poor and rich until you kill all poors and have the country to yourself. Kill 60% poor and the country will be rich and developed automatically.
And I do appreciate the toilets he has built.
But who will clean the shit that is being piled up by nonequitable ditribution of currency. Pathetic...either he is fool to not see this happening. Or he is cunning to ignore it. I would still respect him only if he is just fool.

Highly confusing
by Rajendra Nayak on Aug 19, 2008 12:15 AM  Permalink

With due to respect to the constitution of my country I want to emphasize certain things.
1. After 62 years we are so happy with the chaos & mess but we do not understand what we should have achieved all this in the first 25 to 30 years. In 62 years there should have been only 5 to 10% poverty, 100% literacy and every Indian should have had a roof over their heads.
2. The only freedom that we have is to talk which is seen early morning near the tea stalls in all the parts of the country where people meet, read newspapers and pass comments. Many of the ministers & bureaucrats should roam around like the kings used to do as civilians to listen to public opinion. After sunrise if one speaks, then he is thrashed.
3. What we are talking of equality cannot be understood. Even among the highly educated the caste, region, mother tongue questioning has never stopped.
4. Justice imparted is highly questionable from the point of kal chakra or time. The longest fought case of the world is from Pune in India which took so many decades that the present generation does not know about the cause of action involved in that case but the judgment was declared.
5. 'We the people' has lost significance because the present rulers of state and union of India feel that government means their own personal property.
6. Scientific temper means propagate blind beliefs and if anybody with scientific temper wants to bring down these blind beliefs attack him/her and the state keeps quiet.

Oh yeah .. I guess u also don't know it... US and UK ... Let me take US where they take more than 2 years to elect a president and then come up with some one like George Bush !!! grass root workers- There also candidates lobby in their party and they have to show how much fund they can get for their campaign .. only work of the grass root worker is to elect any of those candidate as their final president nominee ...Politics is a dirty game any where my friend ..

Its only because of true democracy that even the criminals you support can contest in elections. If you dont like democracy you are free to go to China or Pakistan. By the way, Pakistan also may be democratic soon so only option left is China ( or may be middle east)

Narayana Murthy, the great Hypocrite?
by Eshwar Kosaraju on Aug 18, 2008 10:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Are we talking about the same Narayana Murthy, who refused to sing/stand during the rendition of our National Anthem, and who defended his action by saying that "clients" will feel offended? As if the so called "clients" don't sing one! Yeah, these two can be termed as the biggest scamsters of all times, judging by the way their sweatshops operate - looking at the way the salaries are structured, with the so called "variable" pay, they are always employee unfriendly!

Whats wrong in variable pay???

I am a naturalized American who happens to hire foreign nationals, due to paucity of local talent.

These foreign employees cant take part in ITAR(i.e. classified projects). So many a time, they just sit around doing nothing and getting the full allocated pay; Most of them dont even want to become citizens(prefer to just have a green card); thus their in-effectiveness continues. SO WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

PAY THEM LESS, SO AS TO MAKE THEM STRIVE HARDER TO BECOME NATURALIZED CITIZENS

not all are corrupt. Despite all the charges, public sector banks in India are much better than private banks. They don't cheat you, they usually show courtesy also. They may not be as advanced as private banks, but nevertheless they are good. Same with the post office.

Corrupt Babus are in - police, municipality and so on

Yes, I support
FC Kohli is eligible. He brought the first IT project to india by offering computing services. First mainframe came to india by this way. 1968 was the year. Narayanamurthy and Premji came in 1980s. They are more in limelight as the respective companies spent more money for promotion than any social cause. TATA group really deserve this.
