Your opinion is valid. But if Japan wants to acquire atomic boms they can do it very easily. They have all the know-how (the H bomb delivery system) plus they have already shown how dangerous they can become if needed (in world war II). Even China takes them very seriously (without any atomic weapons)

Now for the face saving India will be pushed in to miserable situation and this where the national security is on stake...

If India sign CTBT, NPT without Pakistan signing it, we will be in great danger and it will work in US's Favor always because then India will be slave to US forever...

NPT, no CTBT
by Rajiv Shivashankar on Aug 05, 2008 02:59 PM  Permalink

We should have no objection to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty. However, signing the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty unilaterally will cap the Indian nuclear weapons programme which in the present world scenario is not advisable, especailly when we have nuclear armed Pakistan who is not a signatory to the CTBT or NPT.
Japan's concerns are well understood, and its efforts to achieve a nuclear weapons free world is greatly appreciated, but reality prevents intentions from being implemented in our neighbourhood.

We should have the freedom to test. Next is test.

It starts with the black day declaration surrendering India's freedom and sovereignty
US passed the Hyde act. India kept quit.
N-deal is to get Uranium which last for 60 years from now
Flow of energy starts after a decade. By then Uranium cartels will start dictate price.
India will be forced to buy at the dictated price to avoid waste of huge investment made
Negotiations for n-projects were done during the year long visit (90 times) of the big boss.
The projects are scheduled to be taken up on BOT basis.
The conditions for the BOT is secretive and disastrous to India.
It limits India's interference in the projects.
Government proceeded without political consensus.
LEFT moved out from UPA.
MMS moved confidence vote. Horse trading in public.
Soon the 123 agreement will be passed by US Senate.
Nuclear waste from all over will be dumped in Indian soil under the shroud of BOT.
As the cost control is with MNCs inflation will rise to unimaginable levels.
Devaluation links to inflation.
The whole social fabric will be damaged by that time.
The government is unaware of the decommissioning cost. $3Billions a year for 10 years.
They are not serious about nuclear hazards and terrorism.
R&D sector will be slowed down due to fund crunch and HR problems.
Slow down in development of technology for Thorium and alternative source.
Medias will be bought by the MNCs to play their tunes.
India in danger
Time to wake up, Indians!!

Japs never learnt their lesson
by Raghu Kenmpegede on Aug 05, 2008 02:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Looks like the japs have still not come out of the trauma of 45 bombings. They still cannt see India is not like other nations when it comes to nuclear assets. Whether India signs NPT or not credibility of India is just impeccable.
How sure are japs of other NPT nations are not selling nuclear technologies? How did pak get nuclear arms?? Japs will be better off finding this and plugging those culprit NPT nations.

No CTBT
by crazy on Aug 05, 2008 02:56 PM  Permalink

Japan can keep saying this statement 1000 times. India will not sign CTBT. It is not in Indias national interest. India doesnt live under the umbrella of USA like Japan does. India which is surrounded by Nuclear weapons states has to think about its own security.

by thebedazzled on Aug 05, 2008 02:55 PM  Permalink

Both the large companies (other than GE) which supply Nucleas stuff in US are owned by Japanese. Futitsu owns one and other I dont recall. So if Japan wants business, they have to give us what we want. If they dont want, they can do what they want. We are anyways surviving. No power that the cost of soverignity
