Shashi, I think comparing Dalai Lama to Mahatma Gandhi would be incorrect beyond the fact that they believed in non violence. I respect them for that.

However I feel Gandhi (and Nelson Mandela in SA) finally achieved his aim (freedom) since he protested in India while the British ruled. I feel if Dalai Lama needs to protest, he should do it living in Tibet rather than in India. Just as Gandhi went to England for the round table conference, Lama should go to China and work something out.

Keralite & Bengali running dogs of Chinese Imperialism
by nikla tapala on Apr 18, 2008 07:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The shamefull conduct of Indian foreihn policy is because it is being run by a Mallayli Mafia and supported by a Bengali one . Between 1700 and 1813 when both these communities were in bed withe British and were prostating themselves with sickening regularity , the Maharsahstrians were taking British Prisoners ! viz. in the Battle of Lonawala General Lake was defeated and beheaded ! What else can you expect from these rice communities , in their genes is programed a deep desire to kowtow to any foreigner and suck up to them . It is now the Chinese'es turn to bed these communities , BhadraKumar , Karat-Prakash & Brinda , Bhattacharjee, Basu ,Chatterjee .... it read like a Cochin/Calcutta phone directory . Name me one incident where these communities have not sucked up to an outsider ? Send them to work in Chinese Brothels in Bejing for BOTH sexes , it's what they are fit for !!

Except few abusive words ( rice communities,Brothels etc) I agree with you these communist guys ( not the communities) are like virus. They will not hesitate to finger/sell our own country to the foriegners. The word rice communities I object. As am from rice community you are hurting me when am aginst communist and china. And many are like me in India.Even in wheat communities some support the stupid chinese ( They do not know what to eat and what not to eat. In the dark if you give even the human waste they will eat that. Supporters of them how will be. Only like that) We do not want any benifit to India from the china at any cost. Will you buy anything from thief.Police will catch you.It is similar to that this one getting benefits from these Chinese.

Bengalis have always took stand in past and in present n future will follow its suit. We needn't have to prove our patriotism. Remember Netaji, India's National Anthem, National song, Khudi Ram Bose etc. The list is endless. And All Bengalis are not communist. Never blame any single community ever.

Bengalis need to prove themselves to be patriotic.

Vote out the leftists in your state as a first step please.

And STOP READING COMMUNIST LITERATURE.

The LITERATURE OF RABINDRA NATH TAGORE has more meaning than Marxist crap.

Bring out the Bose in each one of you !!!!
Do NOT hide him behind the stupid facade of Marxism.

Once the Bengalis lead by example, the Keralites will follow.

Long live the spirit of Tibetans...
by Jay on Apr 18, 2008 07:23 AM  Permalink

I'm so sorry to see what my country is being portrayed of; especially - Hypocrate and Coward. Anyway, what can you expect when the 'Leftist-supported' Congress is at Center. Once again, Congress proved itself that NDA does better, at least in such situations. My message for Tibetans, it doesnt matter what games these ----- politicians play, we the Indians are with the spirit of Tibetans. I guess its time for Tibetans and Indians to take it to roads to show the solidarity.

Disagree with Bhadrakumar
by N M on Apr 18, 2008 07:22 AM  Permalink

I completely disagree with former Ambassador Bhadrakumar on his comment that we should not front-load a complex relationship. I think we ought to balance as the front-load is taken by China when they say that Arunanchal is their territory. We always give a muted response & try to please them by not voicing our genuine concerns regarding Tibet.
This makes the relationship much more complex & imbalanced. The quiet passage of the torch gives China an impression of how much are Indians willing to bend backwards to accommodate Chinese concerns which emboldens them further.

I wish we had some assertive/brave statesmen politicians who could call a spade a spade.

Wake up and take stans!!!
by debjyoti chatterjee on Apr 18, 2008 07:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We Lost!!! Yes Indeed. I agree with Kiran Bedi. Our Govt has messed it up all. They should have allowed the general people to see the event specially the kids. Its not everyday that the Olympic tourch is being carried. Though said that let me make out why our Govt acted in this way. So 1stly, Its because India is all set to held the 2010 common wealth games and they want to re-use the waste from the China Olympics. They need lot of support from China then with their expirience. India hope to host Olympic in future and again it will look upto Chinese Govt to pull support. 2ndly, Our present Govt is almost hostaged by Left front. They can't allow the Govt to do something which could un-please the Chinese Govt. If they do so then how can they meet their both ends up. With these developments I fear that some fine day China may tell India to hand over Arunachal Pradesh to them. Please stand up on issues of humanity and world concerne. Have our Govt ever tried so hard to stop cross border terrorist sponcership or helping Pakistan?

Do you know better than Kiran or what?
Enven uneducated will realise the pain when he is beaten. No need be educated or run a govenment or something.Be civilised man before goven something. What Kiran did was the best she did in her life time than what she did during her tenure as officer in Indian govt.Well don Kiran. While you were in uniform you saved only the Indian public. But now you showed that you did those things on the basis of beyond the duty , patriotism - that is " being fellow Human" You did not do the mistake of participaing the rally. You are upto your Mark. Congrqatulations

no extra money is really spent.
