Maoist win with help of terror imported by China. It is like lenin and Stalin did in Russia by killing innocents and spread fear among common ppl.
There was widespread hatred against the monarchs in Nepal. India should have seized the opportunity before China and made it a proper Democratic country. China got the upper hand because India was caught napping. Even now, there is hope left. India should act quickly and capitalise on the discontent that is bound to spread, against Prachanda very soon. Girija prasad Koirala or any other leader who really wants democracy in Nepal should be encouraged and given support by India. Nepal should be saved from the hands of Han Chinese and soon.

Koirala & his colleagues are like old wine in the new bottle. They were the people who silently watched people suffering for decades. Have you seen the real Nepal? Don't see the Pajeros and the owners in Kathmandu, go to rural Nepal and see the plight. These cunning politicians over the decades should be punished? Who else wants to be ruled by a King who claims that Nepal is his personal property and people are his slaves? Hang the king.

Yes the king was bad and the politicians are usually corrupt. But over a period of time, democracies have a way of bringing in people who will bring peace development and a sense of pride in people. Koirala may be a bad choice but there are other politicians, I mean democratic ones, who don't take orders from China. They should be promoted.

what do you mean by "promoted" ??
do you mean usurping of power by a CIA-type intervention (puppetted by indian intelligence agencies) and installing "democratic ones" as head of state ...
does it need mention that prachanda is the current democratic choice ... he has the mandate to rule nepal ... and shouldnt such a glorious democractic verdict by ordinary nepalese ought to be celebrated by india, the flagbearer of democracy ?
the largest democracy of the world has never done anything to promote democracy in any part of the world ... isnt that the greatest tragedy ... however falwed US implementation be .. it cannot be faulted that they have tried several times to promote democracy in other countries ... without US intervention, do you really see a democratic future for Germany and Japan ? granted that several times it has done anti-democratic things in several places ... but at least some times it follows its heart ...
and India ... we always hide behind the convenient cloak of "underdeveloped-country", "what-can-a-poor-country-do", and "real-politic" ... does that really fill the heart with pride ?
This is no challenge for India due to only one reason. Nepal is a poor country and it lacks all forms for social governance & welfare. Also since it's land locked by India, even the smallest of industries depend on India for transportation, raw materials. I remember what Rajiv Gandhi by blocking all food supplies to Nepal back in 89/90. Nepal was cripped by then. Gas Cylinders used to cost over Rs. 1000 then. Whichever Government comes into power in Nepal is bound to abide by Indian norms and work with India. Incidents will happen like hijacking and terrorism but for that India is responsible too. The nepalese border with China actually is rural tibet and is surrounded by mountains. China doesn't even bother to come there.
China is truely coming closer to Indian teritory in all way, through Nepal election.
Thier demand and regular intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh have become now meaningful, with communist capturing the vote of Nepalese at chinese gun point; and the world calls it as democracy returning to Nepal.
What an humbug!!!.
Prachanda will visit China first,. rather then India; once he becomes the PM of Nepal.
In the coming months Chinse will show their teeth in Nepali politics.

Your statements are not true. By the time the UPA government took over in India, the fall of monarchy in Nepal had already happened. And if fact, it was because of the intervention by these Indians that atleast elections were held in Nepal. Unfortunately, at the time when the widespread hatred against the monarchy was brewing in Nepal, we had an absolutely imptent government in India which was busy making roadshows. If India had intervened cunningly at that time, Prachanda would not have taken credit for the fall of monarchy and could not have won the election and by now there would have been a really democratic government in that country.
The Maoists have won because the other parties have been discredited thoroughly. It is the will of the Nepalese people. Whether to abolish the monarchy or not is for them to decide. However, if the King decides to seek asylum in India, he shuold be allowed to do so.
However, the Maoists will be pro-Pakistan and pro-China and this is a cause of worry for India.

When people are fed up with supression, usually a revolution erupts. Nepali Maoists have created a history, wish they transform a better Nepal free from poverty, supression and atrocities of Rich people. They have sucked enough blood of the downtroddens, time has come for them to underground or be ready to be hanged.
