RE:Nepal
by Niraj Prasad on Apr 20, 2008 02:11 AM

what do you mean by "promoted" ??

do you mean usurping of power by a CIA-type intervention (puppetted by indian intelligence agencies) and installing "democratic ones" as head of state ...

does it need mention that prachanda is the current democratic choice ... he has the mandate to rule nepal ... and shouldnt such a glorious democractic verdict by ordinary nepalese ought to be celebrated by india, the flagbearer of democracy ?

the largest democracy of the world has never done anything to promote democracy in any part of the world ... isnt that the greatest tragedy ... however falwed US implementation be .. it cannot be faulted that they have tried several times to promote democracy in other countries ... without US intervention, do you really see a democratic future for Germany and Japan ? granted that several times it has done anti-democratic things in several places ... but at least some times it follows its heart ...

and India ... we always hide behind the convenient cloak of "underdeveloped-country", "what-can-a-poor-country-do", and "real-politic" ... does that really fill the heart with pride ?
