Dont stop there...the age of the universe is defined to the 6th decimal..can you ever imagine that..Some relegions beleived that man was made 6000 years before "BC"..hubble telescope tells the age of universe as 13 billion years old...according to the hindu mantra..commmonly recited in every ritual almost 100 times a day called "Sankalp" which has the term
"Viavaswata manwantarae" "jamboo dweep"
The term Viavaswata manwantarae means that we are in the manvantar of Vaivaswat manu.. which is the 7th manvantar..so the preceding 6 and including the 7 the current one puts the age of universe to 155.513332 Trillion Years - Age of the Universe
Jamboo Dweep as defined is the south Asian continent..did people who defined Jamboo dweep have satellites with them..??..
Amazing isnt it...For all those who dont believe Ram and Krshn..you can find them thro science

yes... "hinduism" but it is not called as 'hinduism' which is a contemporary name... i couldn't find any 'historical' name... historically this is called 'sanatana dharma' meaning - "the law which is"... 'is' as in eternity... without end or begining... may be we can interpret it as "the law of the being"... well i am not good in any language... forgive me if there's any mistake... this is definitely not from my knowledge- i have read in different books and also learnt the same from some 'sivacharyas'... currently i am in search of the meaning for the sankalp mantra which... as this reply says... seems to record the "current" temporal and cosmic location. "current" for the sankalp.
seems like there weren't any religion at that time as the article
Max Muller:(1823-1900) Its know that he lived in poverty until he was employed by the British and greatly praised by his superiors for his duplicity in translation .Muller was paid 4 pounds in the 18th century for every page he wrote. Never visited India once...wrote..The Vedas are like the twaddles of idiots and ravings of mad men. Sanskrit and English are the varieties of one and the same language. Some of his Sanskrit translation is this way...
GarbaGarh in affect means inner chamber of the temple..Muller's translation is "WOMB HOUSE"
Hiranyagarbh in affect means state of manifested form of Maya that holds and contains all the worlds with in....Muller translated this as the "GOLDEN GERM".
Ex certs from some of his own letters:
To Chevalier Bunsen:
"India is much riper for chirstainity that ROME OR GREECE were at the time of St Paul..For the good of this struggle I shall lay down my life or at least lend my hand to bring about this struggle. I shall learn the language , make friends by means of which the old Indian mischief of priestcraft could be overthrown and way opened for entrance of simple Christan teachings. What ever finds roots in India will over shadow the whole of Asia"
To Duke of Argyll:
The missionaries have done far more that they themselves are aware of .The ancient religion of india is doomed and if chirstianity does not step in who's fault will it be?. It would be simply dishonest on my part were to hide my convictions that the rel

Prof Taranath was paid Rs 10,000 in 1866..to write a Sanskrit dictionary with derogatory meanings of common words like Ashwameda yaga was interpreted as killing of the horse..he worte his dictionary to fit in Maxmuller translation of the Vedas. There was no necessity to write this as there already Sage Panini's Grammer and dictionary.
Sage Panini wrote in his grammar that the word Goghn should be interpreted as "One who recieves the Cow"..however Prof Taranath to Fit Mullers Schema of things deliberately interprets this as "Killer of the Cow" in strict violation if Sage Panini's words.

Sir Willaim Jones 1784(Resigned from Chief Justice of India and Joined Asiatic Society of Bangal to write derogatory statement about Hinduism)..Wrote...
"As to the general extension of our pure faith in Hindustan there are at present many sad obstacles..we may assure ourselves that Hindus will never be converted by any mission from the Chruch of Rome, or any other Chruch the only human mode perhaps of causing so great a revolution will be to translate in to Sanscrit such chapters as ISAIAH together with one of the Gospels with a plain prefactory discourse containing full evidence of very distant ages in which prediction themselves and the history of the divine person Jesus predicted were severally made public and then Quietly disperse the work among the well educated natives"
He also wrote"RAMA and CRISHNA" must have been introduced and their several attributed explained the first of them I believe was the DIONSYS(God of wine and worldly enjoyements) of the Greeks The first poet of the hindus Valmic and his Ramayan is an Epik poem comparision of the 2 poems

Srini, These schemes and attacks on Hindu civilisation had been going on since the 12th century, [ Read V.S. Naipaul's "INDIA:The Wounded Civilisation" ]. Unfortunately, it continues in places like TamilNadu, even today, in the hands of the present ruling party, DMK and its leaders. They contribute very little to any form of civilisation, but are vociferous about destroying Hindu faith. It is not surprising that some of the contributors to these columns do not know where they belong. Mere disrupters who have nothing much to offer India. Shd they convert to Islam, you bet they would keep their mouths firmly shut - cowards, I suppose.
Its been long since an article of such quality and depth was published. Mr Singh most certainly has a lot of knowledge about our vedas and ancient literature. Those who dismiss this literature as work of fiction forget that even other faiths refer to their own books (bible and kuran) and worship every word of it as the word of god. It is no coincidence that the tales of Ramayana or Mahabharata have survived for thousand of years. It is no coincidence that the land of India is dotted with places mentioned in our scriptures. Many of the points raised in this article are debatable but as is everything else in this world. Even if you do not believe in the knowledge that has persisted in India for thousand of years, do not dismiss your heritage as some piece of imaginary junk. The problem with us is that we are more likely to believe a foriegn 'authority' than our own seers and scriptures. Science, by its very nature is evolutionary. Not very long ago, scientists believed that our universe was a few thousand years old. At that time no body could convince them otherwise. We as humans have a long way to go before we even begun to understand our real past. It seems there is a mental block and we do not see anything beyond the past 5000 years. It seems a huge chunk of our existence is missing. Our vedas and literatures are a treasure of information from this distant and lost past. Religion is always a matter of faith and even if you do not believe, have faith in your belief!

Dear P. Havildar, You are totally correct. This has been the traditional view of millions of Hindus, especially, in the rural areas, for thousands of years. We did not care about "proof". It is in a deeper sense meaningless to discuss this "proof". Bhagwan Ram is already installed in our hearts. But, with the present generation of young Hindus, their thinking is different. In Kali Yug, arguments take a strange, "free-for-all" ways, deliberately insulting forms - such as some statements by Karuna Nidhi. They seem to have some liking for this sort of "proof". Young Hindus encounter conversion efforts by other religions. They are told "Your Gods are nothing but stories, Our God is the "true" God". More over, this article by Dr.S.P. Singh should be seen in the light of a) The pending "Ram-Sethu" case in the S.Ct b) The readiness of some of our political parties to seek to win Muslim votes by criticising Hindu beliefs, making Hindu castes fight with each other over "reservations" and so on. It is said Hinduism is the majority religion in India, I think, it is the most vulnerable religion, especially, in India. It is safer in the USA, U.K., Australia and Newzealand.

Because these people are taught that unless you demean other religions, you cannot digest a decent meal anyday.
Most important thing: Why are we playing into the hands of westerners who are trying to disprove the existence of Raama? His story has a lot of teachings and ideals for us to follow, regardless of his existence. In case he did not exist, shall we not follow the ideals?
