We need USA's help
by Sudip Bhattacharjee on Sep 25, 2007 03:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I strongly believe India should have a close relationship with USA. I feel it is utterly ridiculous that we have not yet understood the influence of USA on the whole world or we just simply ignore the hard reality that USA dominates the world of 21st century. If we be their good friend, they will help us to build a strong country. Of course to get their help we have to get dictation from them, but still that will eventually do good for India because we will have a strong friend like USA. So, I think India should always, by any means, try to be as close to USA as possible (for her own sake).

I agree that a lot of individual professionals have benefited by being staying there in the US. They have the best technology and they are willing to give to you a few. No, not a single country have benefited by being close to that country.

Once you are in their folder, you are doomed to be a dependent country to the US. Never to come out.

Yes do some business with them. But the strings they deliberately attached with each and every deal is the most contentious thing. The Congress and the Senate will always have some thing surprise stored for you even if you have a clean deal. No escape.

Be a good boy and USA will award you. This is plain and simple. Who does not want award from the world's strongest wealthiest country?

We all need to be a lot more practical in life.

Yes, we dont want the poverty and industrial backwardness of communist bengal spreading to the rest of india. Its better to have America on our side, than keep chinese happy by not signing the deal.

You do not know the US. It has always got a lot of harsh thing in store for you.

No country in the world is benefited in true sense by the US. Name a single country.

Once you give space to the US you will get no way out ever.

Lalatendu Deo, you are our of your mind. Your knowledge are limited like your leader Karat and the gang. Take a close look at Japan, south korea ,Germany and many in Europe. And look at countries who took the path of commumism, like North Korea, Vietnam,Cuba, and some African countries. you decide. If you want prosperity you join with the strong and rich . If you want to live in a mud house you can join Commies.

You should be pro-India
by Amrit Singh on Sep 24, 2007 12:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

some body is pro-US,pro-Congress anti-left.

Some Body is anti-Us, Anti-Congress, Anti-left and pro-china.

I think you should be pro-India while going for the deal. America is not doing any ehsaan on us by outsourcing. Outsourcing has been much more advantageous to them than us. Even in FDI's the Americans first think of their own profit and then about others. So dont be so pro-america. Which people here are. I have nothing against the deail though. Just that we should be equal partners in this relation. Americans want to dominate our foreign policy as is evident of their voice on India-Iran relations. This is the major thought. Foreign policy independence. We should not live in a gold cage at the goodwill of others. We want to become a super power. A super power is never dependent on anybody for any of the reasons. America is not dependent on or are afraid of anybody for any thing including energy. Same case here. Only caution should be used while going through the deal. Over enthusiasm will result in utter dissapointment.

Amrit Singh , Too much caution is not good for our benifit. Every thing has its limitation. This is just a political circus. We didnt show this much "caution" when India singed a "friend ship" treaty with the Evil empire (Soviet)? Both countries are very open society. This is nothing but pure nonsense. You said dont be pro American, It is not the question of Pro American it is the question of India's progress and the place in the world stage. You should be more cautious about PRO CHINESE COMMUNIST in India. They are harming the nation rightnow. Please worrry about Pro-Chinese like Mr. Karat and Bardhan.

Energy and foriegn policy independence should not go
by Amrit Singh on Sep 24, 2007 12:08 PM  Permalink

There is nothing wrong in the nuclear deal. But our ultimate goal should be to become energy independent. Nobody knows where the future alliances will stand. So to become dependent on US for vital energy needs will be like living at their mercy which should be avoidable at all cirumstances. Deal is good, but progress and attention should be on energy independence and also on policy on foreign matters. recently some US Ambassafor to India said that we should not have a close relation with Iran. This is the main point here. And as with america, they only think of themselves. They need india now, that's y they are here. America's stabbing in the back habbit should be fully understood also.

America is a genuine secular democracy

America full recognizes Merit

Many from the Republic of India have attained the highest positions in America.

eg. Mr. Vyyomessh Joshee, Vinnod Khosla, Sabeer Bahttia, Ammar Bose, Ms. Kalpana Chawla, Sunitaa Williams, Indraa Nooyee etc

Not a SINGLE person from the Republic of India will be allowed to attain a top position in the Middle-East, Russia or China.

I would like to modify your statement about recognizing merit.(1)America: Your statement is "America full recognizes Merit ..Many from India have attained the highest positions in America"BUT, NO INDIAN OR ANY OTHER PERSON IS ALLOWED TO EVEN CONTEST FOR THE HIGHEST CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICES. So, when it comes to the highest offices, America, first removes people who are not 'NATURAL-BORN AMERICANS', and THEN LOOKS INTO THE MERIT OF THE REMAINING PEOPLE. I am not saying it is wrong...In fact, it is the right system.(2)India: Merit is NOT LOOKED INTO, in general...for example, Rahul Gandhi, once a child in the arms of Pranab Mukherjee will be the boss in no time, because he is son of Sonia. WORSE, INDIA ALLOWS NON-INDIANS ALSO TO CONTEST FOR HIGH CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICES...AGAIN, TAKE THE CASE OF SONIA...SHE WAS A BORN ITALIAN, BROUGHT UP AS AN ITALIAN,..AND ONCE SHE MARRIED INTO AN INDIAN FAMILY,THAT TOO, PROBABLY CALCULATED ROYAL FAMILY, SHE HAS DONE THE PAPERWORK AND HAS BECOME ELIGIBLE FOR ANY OFFICE IN THE COUNTRY...WHICH PAVES THE WAY FOR HER LOOTING THE COUNTRY AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY...The situation is similar to the fate of many girls in developing countries...they want visa in a rich country...some old man comes in search of a maid, etc...and they marry, get a stay visa, and the girl is a wife for visa purposes, but she is abused in all sorts of manner by her 'owner'..
So, India should amend the constitution to ALLOW ONLY NATURAL-BORN INDIANS FOR HIGH OFFICES LIKE THE US

This is all due to our Muslim friends. Before sept 11th 2001 everything was smooth. Don't blame the West and the US . They are doing this for public safety. If you want make everything insult . Feel free. Complain this to your Arab friends. They are the prime reason for all these problems you see in the airport and in normal life.

These sikhs and muslims should stop behaving so dramatically. they both have inferiority complex, because they work in the lower rung of the society. musliums are shopkeepers and sikhs are taxi drivers.

Young generation should come out on road..
by manoj kumar on Sep 24, 2007 11:30 AM  Permalink

Just like young generation opposed reservation in top institutes based on cast and demanded it should be on merit. Similarly same young blood should come out on road and protest for this deal to pass soon. OR who is gonna suffer, politicians or ordinary people if we dont get such advance technolgy soon which is gonna produce massive energy which is so vital for india's growth. There are so many students union, business associatons, and seminar leaders, jouranlists, where are they sleeping ? ? ? ?

You seem to be following China. Look at the news clippet. Atleast do this much for India!

BEIJING: Chinese police have cracked nearly 500 criminal cases and busted over 4,000 gangs since it launched a crackdown against mafia-style crimes in February 2006, the state media reported on Sunday. The police had so far referred 340 cases of alleged gang crimes for prosecution, a spokesman of the office for national campaign against organised crime said.

More than 4,000 criminal gangs were wiped out during the campaign, he said. Thanks to the crackdown, the number of serious crimes including homicide and robbery has dropped in the first half of this year, he was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency
