Why do we always dig up the past? We learn from history that we NEVER learn from History. It is disturbing to see that most people think that violence is the only way to resolve conflict. It is alarming to see the kind of hate mails on this forums Hindus against Muslims and on others hate mails of Muslims against Hindus. We talk about history of 2000 years Muslims killing Hindus, then we can go back 5000 years back when Aryans came and drove all Dravidians to the south of India. Is there an end to this maddness? The lessons from History should be read to improve the future and not continue with the same thing again and again. An eye for an eye only leaves the whole world blind. Ironically, every religion teaches peace and co-existence and yet their followers think that violence is the only way to save their religion. I believe there is huge need to change our mindset from mutual distrust to mutual understanding and respect. It easy to condemn others, but it needs guts to understand the views of others standing in their shoes. If this is what we are going to pass on to the next generation, shame on us!!

I learnt history from India's text books which have been written by a panel of historians who are among the best in the world and also without bias.

Well if the article is to be believed (mind you it is written by a christian) then you should definitely send it to NCERT and recommend them to delete the chapters from our text books. If they accept, then I stand corrected.

sikhs are a different breed. they always take out the top leader...be it indira gandhi , beant singh , gen vaidya or lalit maken.

Do you know one thing VS who ever is that. How the money given by hindus to temple ios being diverted for building mosques and churches. If you read news I wont have to tell you that. Do you know that hindus cannot teach their culture in schools whereas there can be minority institution there cannot be a hindu institution, Why? Hindus are actually minority for whomever s fault as they are completely divided. And thats why they are being exploited. They have got no political power in the independent india. As some high court judge rightly quipped muslims might be the largest community in UP roughly 20 % where as rest are divided. Thats why we so desperately need tens of original theorists who could make indian history and polity in a manner suitable for indian climate, and not foreigners view of indian history and polity. Why are pseudos not able to accept the muslim carnage and plunder and political suppression. Evolve politics from the base of truth the false foundation will lead to ever bigger blunders in indian history the gujaraty riots are just nothing. See the deep shism in the society is this the way people should live in the country. I hope not. correct history and civics to make india a living place for one and all.
