I think Mr. Shenoy is addicted to Communist Stupidity
by Riva Philip on Jul 07, 2007 03:23 PM  Permalink

I suspect Mr. TVR Shenoy (a former Sangh Parivar karsevak) converted to become a Marxist. That is why he is praising Moorachi Achu, the worst Chief Minister Kerala ever seen. more than thousand infants died in SAT Hospital, tens of thousands of peoples died coz of Chikungunya and dengue. Corruption is rampant. Sex mafia is flourishing thanks to the open support of top CPM leaders. Law-and-order is nill. Yet, morons like Shenoys will say "Achu is performing"

A one-sided view?
by on Jun 08, 2007 10:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I feel this article provides a great insight into Achuthanandan's actions in Munnar, but having followed Kerala's politics for a long while, I feel the views are still one-sided. There are a few reasons why I cannot accept the action as perfect:
1. Instead of demolishing the buildings (like 5 star hotels), he could have acquired them and resold them back to private owners to ensure that precious GDP investment (and the brand) is not wasted.
2. The action could have been taken before the peak tourist season, when thousands of visitors to Munnar were left stranded after having booked their holidays with non refundable amounts.
3. The CM should have been fair and legitimate in the seizing procedure, and should not have shown discrimination against several properties based on personal or party's interests.
4. The CM should have kept in check the influence of his family during the process.

I simply cannot agree with this comment. What GDP? Any illegal action should not go unpunished and it should set as a warning for such evil do'ers. We've had enough of these!
It appears that this writer may have been a victim of this.Even if we lose tourists for a year nothing is going to be lost.If only all the Chief Ministers take courage and follow the example of VS half of the corruption could be curbed. In Karnataka, thanks to Kumaraswamy CM nearly 28,000 acres of illegal land has since been identified and action is being contemplated.

yes kerala can be a dubai or Singapore , why not it is our brain running over there too
by on Jun 08, 2007 09:43 AM  Permalink

Yes , We salute Mr.Chief Minister , He has done a great job ,As citizens of Kerala every individual immaterial to caste/ creed / religion /status que , has a responsibility to support him & His Total TEAM on his/their good deeds which will help kerala to grow .

I think he should also plan "APPAREL PARKS" in kerala and i am 100% sure that will be a great success story along with the SMART CITY .

With Due respect to all ,there is a humble request " LET OUR STATE PROSPER & GROW LIKE OTHERS & LET THERE BE JOBS AROUND FOR EVERY KERALITE" So that there is no Mother/Sister/Brother OR any Kin has to cry in front of others for FOOD/SECURITY/SHELTER & wait and SOB in front of TV programs that they have lost them or they are not traceable or they are unable to come back from the place of their jobs.

It is a MORAL DUTY .

Do you know why chinese grew and why we did not becos chinese make sure their state and country grow and honestly people will grow along with it BUT in our place we will find a way to just cath the LEGS TO MAKE SURE OTHER OR NOTHING GROW < " THERE IS ONLY "I SHOULD GROW " that simple phrase should go" Everyone has to go to GOD once you are born at that time you have nothing what you or anybody makes .the concept is simple " If a Villager dies of suicide 1lakh people will die in urban why becos if he does not sow the seed if grains you cannot eat "

Every Villager who is in debts should be helped by Funds by the Central Govt and Stae Govt and the Central Ba

VS and his actions
by Ashok Abraham on Jun 06, 2007 09:28 AM  Permalink

Good job by VS. I hope he cleans up the mess that now exists in Kerala, specially Munnar. Too many people have exploited this beautiful place and VS should be even more firm and ruthless in his actions.

VS and economic development of Kerala
by balakrishnan varrier on Jun 02, 2007 06:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

TVR is correct when he states "I am delighted that the chief minister understands that economic development cannot come at the cost of environmental degradation."
Environment is what helps the caital less, ordinary citizen to work within his ability and limit to make a living and live happily. High techies. are handful and vast majority of the population belong to the ordinary category. While every other politician, including many Marist leaders, today totally ignore the effect and value of environment to sustain the small man, Achuthanandan is sticking to his vision that small is not only beautiful but is the pillar of the economy and the country in the long run. Hats of to Comrade VS for his steadfast stand in the interest of the common man and the State, inspite of tremendous pressure from powerful left lobbies including his own colleagues in the Marxist party. This is a Bhageeratha Prayatna. Let us all hope Achuthanandan, the "abhinava Bhageeratha" wins in wits and battle.

Kerala - Vibrant State
by krishnamoorthy ramachandran on Jun 01, 2007 10:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kerala with all its wealth should be a vibrant state, but the moment an entrepreneur comes to set up a unit in Kerala the first official he comes across is the Trade Union leader with his own condition to set up a unit. Anylise basic characteristics of any Keralite, he will first look into what his boss earns. So, where a Keralite entrepreneur doing business in other states, he is mentally reluctant to take a Keralite into his unit, because of this mentality. Otherwise, Keralites are excellent people worthy emulation for their hardwork and intelligence, etc.

This has been the image of the industrial kerala. It has changed a lot nad still changing. This was the image of INDIA till 12 yrs back.Things have chnaged

Kerala today has more than 55 thousand IT jobs.In 2-3 years its ecpetced to create 1.2 lakhs of IT jobs.
"Statistics show a mournful procession of low mortality figures. According to Government of India%u2019s third All India Census of SMEs study, Kerala with a non-industrial tag had shown higher SSI concentration than entrepreneur-rich states like Gujarat. "

Mr. Raman Kutty, Has any asked you to keep tab Mammotty's properties? If he has any illegal property in Munnar, the revenue department will take care of the same. No body has asked for your certificate.
