Mumbai is reeling under water for past three year, due to rain. But actual ground work has not been done, after all the difficulties. I don't know whom to blame. Their must be radical change in the governance. For that matter people's attitude also need a makeover.

too much "vibrant democracy" politics & watching bollywood movies....no time to do any useful work.
I experience monsoon flooding in Mumbai since 1974. Such floods occurs once in 20,30,35 years. Now every year people are facing such problems due to mismanagement, high corruption, lack of sincere and dedicated officers. Keeping the city safe is in the hands of 20-30 departments apart from Municipal commissioner, Mayor and Chief Minister. Since no accountability everybody wash off hands. Responsibility of the ward should be with ward officer and elected Corporator and they should ensure that ward area is kept neat and clean and all supplies are well met. Municipal Commissioner and Mayor can interfere anytime if lapses are noticed on wrong doings. Chief Minister should have the last word who can punish the guilty on public demand.
It is absurd to say that this is once in a year problem and is to be adjusted by public. Whoever say that please understand that people spend lot of money to remain healthy on food, exercise etc. only to avoid any sickness like diabetes, heart attack, and take life time policy paying double the premium for 25-30 years and remain healthy and do not die to get the money. Finally architect should plan building layout and ground level height

Govt. not taking tax. What is the govt. duty and also BMC. This is the headache of Govt. not the population. Other state is suffering like Mumbai why ?
A bullet in the head for each corrupt politician at whatever he/she may be at, all the municipal corporations and local bodies, all the all the law enforcement agencies(police, traffic police etc.) and the corrupt lawyers and others working in courts is the need of the hour(feel free to add more). India is stuck in such a sticky situation, that unless all these people are shaken up from their complacency, India is not going to improve soon. Ofcourse, last but not the least, is to shoot and kill allthe terrrorists and Jihadis and Al-Quedas who are operating in India.
I think its the same old story everytime. The sad part is we all keep writing our concerns and who is looking at our messages. I really don`t know to whom we are writing this.
1) Improve the drainage strucure. 2) Ban on constructions of Green Zone and Mangrover land by Builders . 3) stop Illegal Migration to City. 4) Ban on illegal slums that creeps near drainage lines and everywhere. 5) Maximum use of Common transport in rain to avoid Jams . 6) Strict ban on Plastic bags less than 50 micron. 7) Proper disposal of Solid Waste and BIo waste

yes most things u suggest are necessary but lets consider REALITY and what the govt is really up to central govt and environment ministry is considering scrapping CRZ RULES this after pressure from builder lobby throwing (2)in the bin... 40% of population in mumbai is from up and bihar and 60% live in slums.... the high court has given sanction to them they are eligible to vote their votes count not middle class who pay taxes and spend 3 hrs commuting everyday and who are outnumbered 1:5 by hutment dwellers PUBLIC TRANSPORT mutp plan that had promised new coaches to mumbai suburban has not yet done anything 2 experimental coaches run during off peak times the central govt spends/subsidises 31000 per person for people using delhi metro percapita income in india is 26500 appx, calcutta metro also has same problems 10% travellers. mumbai has super dense load or has got a world record overcapacity best has strike 1ce every year PLASTIC BAN has never worked as people really dont care and this is a education and ethics problem
Its a situation we have to face every year now that the eco-system is changing....All seasons will be extreme. But in the real sense, the government will not be able to do anything at the magnitude of this natural disaster. u have no control. Gonu (Muscat), Katerina (US), Tsunami....govt. cannot have a control...
We should not forget that the capacity of BMC drainage system is of handling 40mm rainfall and during hi tide problem increases. The structure of Mumbai city along with illegal slums , builder lobbies constructions are such that this problem will remain Unless thereis one will , one strong political leadership and one voice of Mumbaikars. Simply blaming politicians is nbot going to solve the problem.
Every one should support statehood to Bombay. The pathetic situation of Bomaby is not the result of lack of anything. It is the result of plenty...... plenty of Maharashtrian politicians who are the worst and most corrupt ones in the Country.
Either full statehood or give Bombay to Gujarat! Saroo Chhe!

Giving Mumbai to any state will not help. It is a metro. It can solve problems of whole country and why it can manage it self. This is the heart of indian economy. Hence Mumbai is with MH or Gujrat does not matter. What matters is how we deal with this problem.
The best way is to control pollution and try to balance life with nature. If we do not control ground and air polution then duw to global warming and other side effects of polution Mumbai can go in to sea one day. We should wake p now and try to be eco friendly

very wrong solution. Nothing to do with transferring Mumbai to Gujrat.Extraordinary migration to Mumbai and to view problem through own perspective are the culprits

Mumbai is undivisible from Maharashtra. Infact Mumbai is what it is bcoz it is in Maharashtra. Rather than gathering support for a seperationist movement and adding one more state and adding to the problem of the nation, we should look at what we can do to make better place to live. Mumbai needs good governance and the basics needs attention. Aamchi Mumbai...
