Is PP a SMS choice is still debatable Because Sonia Maino Will not accept. Sonia Wants a puppet to head the Nation. Its is the media which is twisting all these Thing.
Why dont we go for Kiran Bedi if at all we want to have a female heading the nation.
That will never happen.
We need only chamchas.

Another Ex PM IK Gujral is expected to speak in favor of Sekhawat shortly.

Devegowda is uncertain, as he is facing election in the coming days in Karnataka. But his sature will definitely go down if he tries to save his own little dynasty.

VP singh will be the only Ex PM who will not support Sekhawat.

the next president
by seek the truth on Jun 16, 2007 10:58 AM  Permalink

if you think Pratibha Patil has been chosen because she is a women, think again.
Congress knows that Bhairon Singh Shekhawat holds sway over large segments outside NDA which is why they are again trying to influence people on the basis of caste considerations and have deliberately come up with the name of Pratibha Patil.

Pratibha Patil is a complete pushover and there is not a single case where she has shown spine when congress leadership has given their mandate in favor or against any given issue, Which effectively means that she can easily be mollycoddled in doing what the UPA wants.

She is too politically correct and is under no circumstance will ever go against congress diktat.

she does not have an impressive profile or the kind of stature that President Kalam had therefore it becomes imperative to highlight her gender as a sole factor as to why she should become the next president as there is nothing else that can fetch her the requisite number of votes. Infact if you consider profile and stature, the names that come to mind are President Kalam, Narayanamurthy, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Pranab Mukherji.
So a combination of the appropriate caste and the politicaly correct gender may just rule the day.

Infact if Arjun Singh were a women the task would have become a really easy one, although Shivraj Patil is the only person who would suck up to the congress like no other can - no mater what, the fact that Pratibha Patil has never gone against the party whip no mater w

WHO IS RAJA BY THE WAY? CPI is a party who do NOT have ability to even win one MLA (forget MP) on its own ability.

CPI is a party who do NOT have ability to even win one MLA (forget MP) on its own ability.

AB Bardhan have been speaking about merging CPI with CPIM for quite sometime.

WHO IS RAJA BY THE WAY?

He talks hateful language and we saw him all live in CNN_IBN few months back when he showed his arrogance while discussing OBC reservation.

RAJA IS A SHAME TO LONG TREADITION OF COMMUNIST LEADERS LIKE HIREN MUKHERJEE, EMS WHO HAVE BEEN LEARNED.

Mr Raja, Karat, Yechuri and Bardhan should know how to clean their own house first. The CPM ruled kerala state is facing internal fighting within their own party between Mr Achuthanandan, the Chief Minister and Mr Pinarayi Vijan. The above leaders are not able to sort their tnernal party problem. Thereafter let them clean Indian Politics.Mr Raja has got no authority to tell Shekawath to retire from presidents election. These allies will definately compromise anything for sharing the power at the cost of the Nation and the Indian Citizen.

I am wondering if rediff.com is a tamil site. I see Sivaji related news everyday. I am also seeing reporters interviewing D. Raja, who no one else knows. I have also seen lot of coverage of Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Simran, etc.

TWO PUPPETS OF IMPORTED LADY - ITS DANGEROUS TO OUR INDEPENDENCEiii
by wani bhardwaj on Jun 16, 2007 08:32 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Any sensible person can easily understand and forsee danger to our integrity and democratic set up because of the imported lady's highhandedness in the power corridor on the basis of its shameless political party. What I forsee in this Presidential Election is that if there is second candidate from either side, Third Front or NDA, there will be big cross votings from the members of UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Orissa. The biggest loser will be the newly elected UP Chief Minister, Mayawati in this cross voting pattern.
UPA nominee for the presidential election is a very very low profile person and there are other biggest leaders and intellectuals / constitutional experts in que: some of them may be, Najma Heptullah (high profile and international reputed leader); Jaya Bachan (the strong opponent of Imported President of Indian National Congress; Bhaironsingh Shekhawat, the Hon\'ble Vice President of India who have also got international credibility and reputtion from all walks of life. Since the election is aboslutely on SECRET BALLOT AND SYSTEM, the winner may be 99% we can ensure to these 3 candidates if opposition parties interested to field them. Whatever may be the result, this will be the beginning of the end of UPA rule in India, and an election of UPA nominee will be the first step of transferring our power as in Pakistan or converting India's democratic system on an autocracy rule or making fast the disintegration work started

By selecting a virtually nationally unknown person as presidential candidate, Congress seems to have succeeded in achieving consensus.
I am not objecting to a woman being the President, but what I am saying is that woman
should be known at least nationally. For instance, there is very little chance of her knowing the problems and aspirations of the people of the South. The Left have been saying that they would not agree to a party person but in the end succumbed to the Congress tactics. Does it means there is no non-party woman of at least national stature available ? We will appreciate a woman President being installed but not any woman ! The Left did not come out in flying colours.

Manmohan Singh himself was a third rate choice. His choice is bound to be fourth rate ! Naturally a third rate cannot expect support from a second rate from Rashtrapathi Bhavan. So he selected a fourth rate.

It would be nice to see Kalam again in the post.
Evil force is going to pass some anti-national and
anti-social amendments in the house which will be signed by their PUPPET President. So there will not be
neccessary to wake her up in the mid night, she will give signatured stamp prior sending to her.

It will be difficult but NDA should bring strong person like TN Sheson, or PKS Gill or any high calibre IAS/IPS
in the post.

The Women bill which is not passed by these Pseudos last few decades and now pretending to make a Woman
President !!!

Instead of putting Prativa Patil, even if you put any Cat or Dog is most highly equivalent.

give me one instance where Mr. Kalam took even a half undecided step against the present government? He is supposed to be a great scientist , though that is much debatable but atleast he tries to portray himself as a scholar and talks much about talent and trapping it within India, if he was so good and had some guts why didnt he simply pocket the reservation bill? tell me one good reason why he didnt speak anything about afzal being selected to be pardoned the way he was? dont follow him blindly, he is much to weak a president than Mr. Jail singh who had the guts to take on Rajiv Gandhi who mustered an overwhelming 3/4th majority in both the houses, kalam has been a flop and should go down in the list of very unsuccesful presidents.

Mother Goose
by Raj Bhardwaj on Jun 16, 2007 07:28 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

PM's choice? It makes sense. The *P*oor *P*rime Minister has been trying hard to develop oratory skills -- which he badly lacks. Like Demosthenes, he tried practising with pebbles in his mouth, but only managed to mumble. Then someone told him about the Mother Goose rhyme:

"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers;
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?"

Reciting it greatly improved his style. Taking it from there, he hit upon the name Pratibha Patil. "President Pratibha Patil," he has been repeating on and off. It is much better than "Dick Whittington, thrice Lord Mayor of London", which has no relevance to India.

Prez nomination
by asheesh bhatia on Jun 16, 2007 07:20 AM  Permalink

Mr Raja,
I am sure you know that you are joking when you try to trumpet the 'democratic' values of Indian system. If there is some thing which failed in the prez nomination, it is democracy. If the Prez was to be an elected person, you can bet that Mr Kalam would have won hands down. No level of your caste politics, religion politics, regional politics would have divided Indians in voting for Prez. The sad part is that we are trying to find replacement to some one which is undisputingly one of the best prez we can and shall have. Hats off to that gentleman.
And I dont think he has done any great wonders for India in his stint as prez. What he has done is to give utmost respect to the post of PM. He has shown that he has a vision for India, for the children of India, and that he willing to resent the political super-bosses when required. He is an honest, hard working, visionary Indian. None of those qualities which you so called elected netajis can ever have.
In the end, now that this political post is all but a done deal, the best the BJP could do is to support Kalam or some one like N.Murthy. They will loose, sure, but in the process, BJP would send a strong signal that it does what it thinks is best for India. In the process, it will sure win a million hearts (and many votes). The general election isnt far enough, and the public isnt THAT short.
Again, salute to Prez Kalam. You deserve better thngs than being sorrounded by inefficent, visionless people. Unfortunately,
