Prez nomination
by asheesh bhatia on Jun 16, 2007 07:20 AM

Mr Raja,
I am sure you know that you are joking when you try to trumpet the 'democratic' values of Indian system. If there is some thing which failed in the prez nomination, it is democracy. If the Prez was to be an elected person, you can bet that Mr Kalam would have won hands down. No level of your caste politics, religion politics, regional politics would have divided Indians in voting for Prez. The sad part is that we are trying to find replacement to some one which is undisputingly one of the best prez we can and shall have. Hats off to that gentleman.
And I dont think he has done any great wonders for India in his stint as prez. What he has done is to give utmost respect to the post of PM. He has shown that he has a vision for India, for the children of India, and that he willing to resent the political super-bosses when required. He is an honest, hard working, visionary Indian. None of those qualities which you so called elected netajis can ever have.
In the end, now that this political post is all but a done deal, the best the BJP could do is to support Kalam or some one like N.Murthy. They will loose, sure, but in the process, BJP would send a strong signal that it does what it thinks is best for India. In the process, it will sure win a million hearts (and many votes). The general election isnt far enough, and the public isnt THAT short.
Again, salute to Prez Kalam. You deserve better thngs than being sorrounded by inefficent, visionless people. Unfortunately,
