The govt should stop running after nuclear power and try to tap the gas energy from Rajni. That should be enough to power the whole of India for the next 100 years.

RE:its a HOPELESS case

indian scientists prefer to work for america, only those whose visa has been rejected remain behind

TWO INDIANS HAVE WON NOBEL PRIZE FOR USA (KHORANA, CHANDRASEKHAR) WHILE ONLY ONE HAS WON NOBEL PRIZE FOR INDIA (C.V.RAMAN) AND THAT TOO IN 1930 BEFORE INDEPENDENCE.

SHOWS CLEARLY INDIAN SCIENTISTS PREFER TO WORK FOR AMERICA

You are just an ignorant bully...Pity on your thoughts! You must be a moron with half knowledge.
America has been pooling scientists from all around the world and investing trillions of dollar...that's why Indian brains could be lured out of country.Simple economics...
But even those mediocres left in india have done wonders and that is the fact unsettling you(Paki and india haters)
Thanks god we dont have theives in our scientist community(Abdul quadir Khan)...it shows the level of brain you pakis have...all you can do is to corrupt your own people and earn cheap money

Looks like your brains work as your name suggests. Grow up buddy! Indian scientists have created nuclear bombs w/o Americans helping them. We are sending satellites in orbits w/o any help from anyone. We are one of the leading nations in the field of science, despite our corrupt politicians. Most of our scientist community is working for the cause tirelessly with pittance of a salary. If you are an Indian, be proud of our scientists. If you are a Paki, I wont grudge your ignorance.

making a nuclear bomb is VERY easy compared to making a fighter plane turbo-fan engine. btw, those ISRO rockets are using russian cryogenic engines.

Kakodkar is being set up by MMS and gang...
by Peter Parker on Jul 18, 2007 12:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I dont see the reason where a scientific chief is being involved in negotiations, which is exclusively the job of the foreign office and / or PMO.
Clearly the NSA / PMO is going to make compromises and this is being sold by getting kakodkar to agree (in some form). No parliamentary review or even public review.
Looks like the congress party is going to be solidly funded by the foreign powers for the next election.

An Exhortation to the Indian Negotiators
by Chakravarthy Muralidhar on Jul 18, 2007 12:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Through your message board I would like to appeal to our key scientists involved in the negotiations with the Americans. I would like them not allow their bureaucratic colleagues to play with words and try to bamboozle them. They must keep thair heads clear, with intention of protecting the interests of India at all cost. Under no circumstances should they falter even for a wink against the wily Americans. If you have even the slightest suspicion or doubt on the intent and the resultant wordings in the deal, keep straight and walk firmly out. VETO it with all the force and rightful contempt that it deserves. You have worked real hard with total dedication to achieve leadership in nuke technology and broken astounding grounds in uncharted territories of fundamental and applied nuclear science and technology. You have everything at stakes to safeguard this humungous knowledge-base and pass it on safely to the future generations who will take over from you. In India's nuke research history you have at this moment one of the most critical role to play. I am sure all of you will walk tall with great moral conviction not to even for a fleeting moment betray the nation at this ominous period in its history. THE WHOLE NATION IS WATCHING YOU WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS AND TOTAL BELIEF IN YOUR UNSTINTING PATRIOTIC RESOLVE. WE KNOW YOU WILL NEVER BEND AND COMPROMISE OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS.
I request the Rediff management to reach this message to Sri Anil Kakodkar and his colleagues.

Inkipinky, it is clear you know almost nothing about India's civil nuke capabilities. That becomes apparent when you say that all Indian reactors are from USA or Russia, etc. Having been a very close observer of India's nuke development I assure you that you have all wrong notions on the subject. Nuke technology cannot be show-cased like the launch of a spaceship. But lack of fireworks does not mean that nothing is happening. For knowing that you need to understand technology and its intricacies. And understanding nuke technology does need effort.

I nominate the great Mr. Percy Panthaki
by Masst Ram on Jul 18, 2007 12:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Percy Panthaki, India's foremost academician and politician, who has been the brains behind every single political and economic move in the last 15 years sitting in the PMO along with collaborators like Montek Singh and Guneet Singh should be at the forefront of the Nuke Deal. The world will be introduced to the metaphoric descriptive "The 60000 Ton Gorilla" after he performs feats at the scale of what King Kong and Godzilla, together, did not accomplish in fiction.
Up with Percy Panthaki!
