Dear friends nice to see people praising defence i.e army.I would like to share the facts as i am a spouse of an armed forces personnel.Friends when officers in army, navy ,airforce work for missions they are involved day and night iresepective of whether wife is in family way, father is not well etc.Even they dont come to know especially in navy , if you are in submarines or sailing for long duration what is happening to your family, if you have become father or bereived of parents.Once you are back from special missions again the maintenance of aircrafts, ships submarines is to be done by the jawans and officers.Personally with my experience i have seen at times after long deployments my husband doesnot come to home for two days.My small son keeps crying for papa, asking where is my papa.Further the three forces have difeerent roles army - defend the borders i.e territorial borders Navy - aquatic borders Airforce- borders at sky i.e They all have there own peculiar problems. You ask any time if you happen to meet any jawan who has served in siachen what was his state. When george fernandes became DM he ordered good quality woolen clothings and got an airconditioned mess with temperature control. When you serve in altitudes your sinubial fluid dries up due to climatic condition you get joint pains and all.Ask a sailor how is life in ships, submarines, fighter planes. They will tell you the true story.Media and politicians have vested interest and are complement of eachoth

Further the stress related factors as there is nobody at field station to share your vows or listen to you.At young age jawan, sailors and airmen join defence. In present day society nobody is supporting there families at home station, villages, young married wifes and what not.As most of the time jawan and officers are away there properties are encroached by goons or local politician and civil authorities not being cooperative.Personnel get limited leave depending on situation. Further floods, fire every where army and navy is roped in. Where do these people get actual time to relax.Any blast happens in india security at defence installation is beefed up and patrolling too, high alert. After all we all are too human beings.Being away from families too takes a toll on human relation. When you get leave you dont have reservations and many other things. Inspite of this if you dont get respect that is what it hurts. In this country if any body is worki8ng for motherland its jawans, officers not politicains and civilians.we all are working for stomach or personal ambitions.Majority of them join for love for nation.Imagine a young boy joining NDA rejecting iit,AIMs seat and opting NDA.Some body earlier on this forum expressed as there are civilians so there is armed forces.Dear friends however small a nation is it require army to protcet its citizens. We were under british rule b'cos we didnot have strong army and defence.Even vedas support this.A strong defence protects the counrty

Rashmi, We have to understand the call of duty... the military is supposed to be like that.. their readyness to fight, the aspect of keeping away from family, all in the game. I do agree with the points you told, just to remind you that it is a part of their job. See our jawan's are protecting our soils, what about the fate of the forces sent for war in Iraq? Everyday they are blewed up for someone else, just to keep up the faces of political leadership.

dear Rashmi......the whole country is proud of our armed forces..........they have a glorious history of protecting the country against our enimies.......
In such a situation the Human rights activists should be pushed in the front by the army and used as human shields. Then these idiots will realise how difficult it is for the army to operate and they will also get an opportunity to talk to the "innocent" terrorist and raise slogans against both the parties.
According to the Oxford University sociologist Diego Gambetta, editor of Making Sense of Suicide Missions, a comprehensive history of this troubling yet topical phenomenon, while suicide missions are not always religiously motivated, when religion is involved, it is always Muslim. Why is this? Why is Islam the only religion that motivates its followers to commit suicide missions?
The surprising answer from the evolutionary psychological perspective is that Muslim suicide bombing may have nothing to do with Islam or the Koran (except for two lines in it). It may have nothing to do with the religion, politics, the culture, the race, the ethnicity, the language, or the region. As with everything else from this perspective, it may have a lot to do with sex, or, in this case, the absence of sex.
What distinguishes Islam from other major religions is that it tolerates polygyny. By allowing some men to monopolize all women and altogether excluding many men from reproductive opportunities, polygyny creates shortages of available women. If 50 percent of men have two wives each, then the other 50 percent don%u2019t get any wives at all.
So polygyny increases competitive pressure on men, especially young men of low status. It therefore increases the likelihood that young men resort to violent means to gain access to mates. By doing so, they have little to lose and much to gain compared with men who already have wives. Across all societies, pol

ygny makes men violent, increasing crimes such as murder and rape, even after controlling for such obvious factors as economic development, economic inequality, population density, the level of democracy, and political factors in the region.
However, polygyny itself is not a sufficient cause of suicide bombing. Societies in sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean are much more polygynous than the Muslim nations in the Middle East and North Africa. And they do have very high levels of violence. Sub-Saharan Africa suffers from a long history of continuous civil wars%u2014but not suicide bombings.
The other key ingredient is the promise of 72 virgins waiting in heaven for any martyr in Islam. The prospect of exclusive access to virgins may not be so appealing to anyone who has even one mate on earth, which strict monogamy virtually guarantees. However, the prospect is quite appealing to anyone who faces the bleak reality on earth of being a complete reproductive loser.
It is the combination of polygyny and the promise of a large harem of virgins in heaven that motivates many young Muslim men to commit suicide bombings. Consistent with this explanation, all studies of suicide bombers indicate that they are significantly younger than not only the Muslim population in general but other (nonsuicidal) members of their own extreme political organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. And nearly all suicide bombers are single.

Going by the rate of suicide bombings, there are no more any virgins left in heaven. What a waste of life.
Dear fellow Indians I request you all to visit this site on scientific archeology based on evidence. This site will unravel all the myths about our civilisation, our roots on india which we are reading in the current history books in school.Unfortunately our history was written by the people, Govt. and historians who have political ambitions, and personal goals, which was supreme then motherland. So you can not rely, it is all distorted. Please refer to this site it will help us all in uniting instead of dividing and clear our doubts regarding our heritage, our roots.
Good riddance and wasnt this guy using a woman as human shield, what happened to the locals now ? why didnt they parade him naked when he took this woman ? or were they too scared ??? These locals are no local villagers they are all terrorists from outside, always blaming the army and supporting the jehadi terrorists. And the politicians and human rights activists who support them are terrorists too.
