Life in Armed Forces
by rashmi sahu on Jul 18, 2007 12:54 PM

Dear friends nice to see people praising defence i.e army.I would like to share the facts as i am a spouse of an armed forces personnel.Friends when officers in army, navy ,airforce work for missions they are involved day and night iresepective of whether wife is in family way, father is not well etc.Even they dont come to know especially in navy , if you are in submarines or sailing for long duration what is happening to your family, if you have become father or bereived of parents.Once you are back from special missions again the maintenance of aircrafts, ships submarines is to be done by the jawans and officers.Personally with my experience i have seen at times after long deployments my husband doesnot come to home for two days.My small son keeps crying for papa, asking where is my papa.Further the three forces have difeerent roles
army - defend the borders i.e territorial borders
Navy - aquatic borders
Airforce- borders at sky i.e
They all have there own peculiar problems. You ask any time if you happen to meet any jawan who has served in siachen what was his state. When george fernandes became DM he ordered good quality woolen clothings and got an airconditioned mess with temperature control. When you serve in altitudes your sinubial fluid dries up due to climatic condition you get joint pains and all.Ask a sailor how is life in ships, submarines, fighter planes. They will tell you the true story.Media and politicians have vested interest and are complement of eachoth
