I say the whole analysis is crap, yaa soldiers were killed but in South Asia you dont value life on an average 4-5 Indian soldiers get killed everyday from Kashmir to Kanyakumari or Ahmedabad to Assam/ Manipur / Nagalad and not a single Indian Soul gives a HOOT !!.
This whole episode was staged my Mushraff to gain respect from US, to show the US that he is indespensible. This was supported by the Army because be it Mushraff or any one else, they want to remain in power and who better to back than Mush.
Finally about islam and general condition in Pakistan, this is a complete wrong picture as Shenoy is trying to potray, the country may have a terrible infra structure, so do we, they have have North West Frontier Province / Balugistan, we have Kashmir, Manipur, Nagalad, Naxalites the list is endless.
Our country is growing at 9 percent they are grwoing at 7 percent, their cities are shit and so are ours..
OK we have CENTERS of EXCELLENCE (infosys offices, Amby Valleys, Hiranandani, may be SEZs), may be we have better Railways and Roads, may be we have much better chance to suceed, may be our people are doing fantastic all over the world where as people from Pakistan and doing fantastic Blasts but all need to remember, this is a country kicking and alive and we need to treat it like we would treat China and the day we forget that, well we have have 1000 years of history to teach us, we were never attacked and captured by the chinese !!!
Some muslims argue that its only some radical people who harbour terrorism, As a doctor i had travelled to many countries i find most of the the muslims invariably(even they did belong to the country) have brethren feeling. They have the natural affection towards fellow muslims which is advantage for radical groups and their burning feelings(terrorism). Initially they were given weopens by US but the demon(MUSLIM TERRORISM) has grown up. If they say it's only US instigated them ,i want to ask u people "r u brain less". Musshraf knows wat will be his end (as it will be same like Zia ul Huq ). Its time for India as said by Vajbayee in his Speech in parliment during 1971 war "we should give a befitting reply to them, so that the rulers in Pakistan should should not even imagine an attck to our country", so its time to retaliate not to react. The rulers should think about the security of our country rather than thinking of how to reply to US (bcos when it comes to nation US is third person singular to India).
Emotion seems obscuring the logic! Let mind rule over heart than the other way round! If you want to get to know the truth let cold logic prevail! It is needed because unless one diagnoses the disease accurately one can not prescribe the right medicine.
Whatever is happening in Pakistan now is the direct consequence of 9/11 rather than their inflicting terror on us for more than a couple of decades. Had 9/11 not happened Pakistan still could have merrily troubled us, perhaps even to a greater degree than now, and still not got affected by it as they are today. Conversely, even if they did not cause terror in Kashmir and elsewhere in India, still they could have had the same situation because of 9/11. As Musharraf, in his infamous telecom to Aziz during Kargil said, the Pakistani State can control actual Jaishs and Lashkars, but not Al-Qaeda. It is Al-Qaedas might at display through the face of Jaish in the current situation. And in Al-Qaedas radar India is just a blip, at least as on day. Jaishs and Lashkars are like jackals feeding over the leftovers of big beasts like Al-Qaeda!
It is their northwestern borders, due to their cultural and impoverished nature, that were prime fertile breeding grounds. Usually, one takes risks when there is little to lose. As their Punjabi eastern borders are wealthy fewer people resort to terror as there is something at stake to lose and that tells us why there is minimal terror activity in Lahore than in Quetta or Karachi (Its impove

Mr marigold I answered your question which you asked for the solution of your population control. It doesnt required any solution from us, the whole world gathered together and killing you cruel people at your own den in Iraq, Pakistan and Afganistan and your women and your childern are paying for it.
POINT 1 The raison d etre (the rationale) of creation fo Pakistan was to oppose Hindus. If one were to go by the concept abinitio, then Pakistan has to oppose everything that is Indian. So, Pakistani establishment cannot be blamed if they are sticking to its basics, i.e. oppose India and create as much problem to India as possible. They are simply doing their job.
POINT 2 Way back in early 1900, Muslims of India strongly resented sharing power with the Hindus. "Hindus are natural subjects" was the common refrain (and) they have history to support their claim ! Did not Mansingh buy peace with Akbar by offering her sister ? Red Fort and Taj Mahal were made during the Mughal rule. Consequently, if Pakistanis fee that they have 700 years of histosy to stake their claim on Red Fort and hoist the flag atop it, can one really argue ?
Sorry for being contrarian. The fact remains that foreign invaders have shaped the destiny of our territory for the past 1,000 years and we were incapable of defending / shaping it up.

The article fails to give any empirical evidences or situations or events which could lead to the end game of Musharraf. Its allright that Musharraf is waging a war against the seminaries of Lal Qila who have now rebelled against its protectors but whose victory it shall be is a forgone conclusion as reports of their ( funadamentalist) surrender testify.
The article should have offered something new in perpsective rather than be a monologue of past events. The article fails to give any new insight.

it is a dream of a lot of sub continent muslims(mostly from pak and bangla) to have a pan islamic state streching from indonesia to turkey ,This dream is deliberately fanned by some local leaders with self interest,However the muslims from India and Pak are treated as a third class citizen in saudi arabia who consider them as non muslims or less than equal to them it is high time for these wayward people to awake to reality and rather work for there own economic development within country they reside rather than harbouring such dreams.

We don't have to convert them to Hindusim they don't deserve to be hindus. We want to grow tall at the cost of dwarf Pakistan. When we are already entangled with our own problems, media and all people enjoying what is happening in Pakistan. As the matter of fact, Pakistan sponsored terrorism in India is a part of war and everything is fair in love and war. We tend to critise Pakistan as we have been totally failed in facing this war. The goverment of India should think positive, make plan to face the threat of terrorism and stop critising Pakistan again and again.
