Its really sad,but thank god no human lifes were lost. Crores of rupees have been spent on the R & D of these machines, i just wonder where all the money is gone. Such sub standered machines are up at display, two accidents in a week cannot be coincidence. Corrupt politicians and breaucrats make a lot of money. If the money they have pocketed, should ahve been spent on the R & D of these machines, then india would have been saved of this worst embarassment.

Time to wake up
by bharathi raja on Feb 08, 2007 05:13 PM  Permalink

These things will happen in India unless government set up a individual body to monitor all the R&D work going on in all the Gov.laboratories. This body should be empowered to give the go ahead to project after rigorously analysing the quality, cost, viability and technology of the product developed. This will improve the efficiency and reduce the overall project time involved. Our motto should be "quality first" in all parameters.

Mr Sameer,

I do agree with Shaliesh, Its fair to motivate the HAL and other R&D organisations. But Its our hard earned money which we part every month as the tax goes into such things!!
If you are a tax payer , then you would know about that. Have any one of you had a chance to look at the programe on Discovery Channel about these pvt R&D organisations in US which builds the fighter jets for US airforce. In the way of competition they come up with better technology.
India inspite of these huge spendings in such org we are still to borrow or buy these jets from the advanced country. To prove this just look at the news with header "IAF to acquire 40 Sukhoi jets from Russia" in rediff only.
There is no healthy competition nor any proper R&D work is been done. Its all a eye-wash.

I agree with you apart from SURYAKIRAN which is good for nothing ..they have not came up with a single Plane .. Choppers ..Cheetah and chetak
which are nothing but simple choppers .. they have not made any progress .. Now a days they started making parts on contracts for other countries like Israiel... They were suppose to Deliver Teja - Fighter Plane ..Not sure what happened to that ... Most of the India Scientist R&D people has gave up ..they are in favour of buying the technolgy from outside..rather then coutinue working and Delivering ... Trishul Failure was example of it.... China did one of the toughest test last month ... I india did not came up with anyhting positive rather then complaning ...china did the test ..When India will do tht

China can build a factory in any where in China
it wants, no matter what ever happens, that
also you need to remember.
Here in India, even for drought land, there are
lot of hunger strikes.
If that is the case, please don't give chinese
example here.

commitment
by Bahl Kumar on Feb 08, 2007 05:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

we are not so committed to safety and other issues in the high technology area , so better give the orders to fully commited companies for the safety of people and pilots.

yea though i got offers in other countries , i am working for an Indian Company , to atleast add a drop in the ocean , but these issues are life taking , all we work is for well being of man and country , so we need to put very high level of commitment here , which most of Indians lack through my experience ,
