No Way Out
by Atul Agnihotri on Dec 24, 2007 09:19 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This election has showed us how thoroughly the politicians have used the electoral process and the pro democracy talk to their effect and have looted at will and in broad daylight.

Now the elections are faught on a single candidate - CM or not. Modi may be the chief minister of gujarat, but is he bigger tha the state he is suppossed to serve?

It is high time we thought of another way of electing people to lead us because the present system is not working.

Why not have the parties submit a road map for the way ahead before the election to the election commission. This road map should include all the policies that they would want to frame and how they would go about thier daily business of governance. Then say after the 5 year term, teh country can judge what promises have been fulfilled and what not.

Right now all we get after spending crores and crores of rupees is just a bunch of parties who cannot see face to face but nevertheless come together to be in power.

India divided?
by Meh on Dec 24, 2007 07:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It has been proved once again that Gujrat is the most communal state in India and Modi has managed to polarize the gujrati society. Well one of my learned friend from Gujrat was saying that every home in gujrat is very communal and kids are taught to be communal right from the childhood. Modi has taken advantage of it and has manged to divide india further. This is not a victory but a defeat of India and india plunges further into communalism. This could divide a india from a indian and ultimatly break the country once more. It is the defeat of india.
Uma Bharti herself has said that Gujrat is highly polarized society.

Gandis) have taken advantage of gullible individuals like you to fool n rule you over the ages past & will keep on doing so for ages to come.

only muslim terrorist and muslilm people made Gujaratis as communal. planting boms in the train, killing indian armies, supporting alqueda are the main cause for Narrendra Modis return. indian people are very very good. they are the people of toleration, but you see the muslim, they are prove that they are the only communal people in the world by destroying the world trade centre in USA. even they will not hesitate to kill thier own people in masjid itself when they talk about humanity. thousands of people killed in masjid itlself . even on Bakrid day they plant boms inside the masjid in pakistan. Now people in India they want retaliate. one thing should understand very clearly. that is, only oneleader you are worrying about Naredra Modi, if all Hindu leader and Hindu people and Hindu communals become communal it is very difficult that muslim community will survive.that is the Indication shown in Gujarat. even now there is a time to change for the muslims. dont make other states to become gujarat. Thanks to rediff.

Wanton usage of the obnoxious term 'Saffron'
by Venkatram Shrinivas on Dec 24, 2007 06:42 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The name %u201CHinduism%u201D was given others who either opted to follow or forced to follow (by enforced conversions) an indoctrinated religion. Etymologists and lexicographers have either not taken care, or overlooked to trace the origin of the prefix %u201Cism%u201D. It is my contention that it has its etymological origin in the Sanskrit word %u2018asmi%u2019, which means, %u201CI am%u201D. Obviously the %u201Cego%u201D of %u2018I am%u2019 tends to smack of %u2018fanaticism%u2019. The Christians who conveniently named their own religion as %u201CChristianity%u2019, began naming other religions as Mohammedanism, Sikhism, Buddhism and so on. History cannot that, before the onslaught of Islam and the deluge of Christian torchbearers%u2019, there was no religion in this country that is called India. The inhabitants, in a general way called their Earth %u2018Bharatha%u2019. Before the invaders and intruders, there was only %u2018people of Bharatha practicing %u201CSanathana Dharma%u201D which also encompassed the more ancient inhabitants of this subcontinent. Correct version:The name Hinduism was given others who followed or forced to follow (by enforced conversions)an indoctrinated religion. Etymologists and lexicographers have taken overlooked to trace the origin of the prefix ISM. I detest the very suffix ISM,so far one's belief ia concerned. Its etymological origin in the Sanskrit word 'Asmi',which means,'I Am'.Obviously the 'Ego' of 'I Am' tends to smack of Fanatism & Bigotry. The Christians who conveniently named their own religion as Christianity, conveniently named other religions as Mohammedanism,Sikhism, Buddhism and so on. History cannot deny that, before the onslaught of Islam and the deluge of Christian Torchbearers, there was no religion in this country that was Bharatha. The inhabitants, in a general way called their Motherland,Bharatha. They called themselves only as people of Bharatha, practising Sanathana Dharma.which also encompassed all the ancient inhabitants of this subcontinent.Immortal Bharathi wrote under the Sarcastic Title 'Bharatha Jaathi' "All the people of this Great Bharatha are Bharthias Which ever God they worship, be they Chritians Mohammadians,Parsis.Even today can they point out a More Secular and a More dedicated Patriot than Bharathi?

It's saffron wave in Gujarat once again
by Fried Yakov on Dec 24, 2007 03:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Long live Moditva- I long to see Modi as the PM of undivided India (including the present day Pakistan and Bangladesh). The media may continue to demonise and vilify Modi, but the common man has finally come to realise the truth about who has the benefit of the majority at his heart. I hope there shall come a day when the public can trash the 'sickular' media. I hope and pray the day when Modi becomes PM arrives soon. Long live a resurgent India. Jai Hind.

"I want to ask the Indian Muslims only one question. In the recent All-India Muslim Conference why did you not open your mouth on Kashmir? Why did you not condemn the action of Pakistan?......It is your duty now to sail in the same boat and sink or swim together. I want to tell you very clearly that you cannot ride on two horses. You select one horse, whichever you like best."

I agree, it is the pseudosecular press responsible for turning Hindutva into "communalism" and Muslim appeasement into "secularism". In a secular government why should religion be criteria for any classification?

Today is one of the happiest days in my life time, I will have peaceful sleep tonight because Guajarati voters have shown the strength of Hindu unity to world no matter how much the NGOs, pseudo secularist and Media tried to break it. Bravo Guajarati community we salute you, Thanks a lot for your commitment towards Hinduism. Now Congress and Communist will think 100 times before announcing any minority appeasement policy, other wise Sonia and Co may bring a 50% reservation for the minority everywhere.

Absolutely right. The Gujarathis have shown the courage and their conviction against the total onslaught from the pseudo-seculars including almost the entire english Media. There was a total unleashing of the Media blitzkrieg against Modi.

But, the expectation that Congress will learn is very far fethced. The Congress has never learnt in the last 60 years and will never learn now. Their minorityism and pseudo-secularism will only increase further now. And actually it should, because, it is only then that they can be decimated.

Religion a failure...?!
by Nihit Saxena on Dec 24, 2007 02:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Religious people are easier to offend and "hurt" "sentiments". Isnt the job of religion to make people a more calm and composed person? If it rather pushes you to the other edge isnt it a failure or rather a hurdle than a support?
So they want us to "believe" in all this mumbo jumbo or not questions all the magic that none of us has ever seen.. if we dont they would get angry and threaten to kill us. Now I dont see these people as better in any way.. Would they not be a better person without these "beliefs"?

Explain to me the essence of religion and I will convert from current agnostic state to your "faith"..

Please help me convert and further your cause.. I am ready to accept whatever bribe you guys give to all the poor/hungry/disabled parts of the world to increase your veto power. I will start the auction at a 1000$.

I am sure in 2050 when this world would be really advanced and we would actually see all flying cars and etc etc as promised by terminator/blade runner (that never happened in Y2K :( ) all this religion billycrap would be gone and people would laugh thinking about how "crazy" "emotional" "offendable" "vulnerable" and "weak" everyone used to be indulged in all these fairy tales and work towards making some real progress.

Mr.Nihit I agree with you on your message, but there are some monothlic faith which doesn't agree contradiction to its belief unlike Hinduism. And those religions are one which is creating more hurdles for the progress of world.
