The name %u201CHinduism%u201D was given others who either opted to follow or forced to follow (by enforced conversions) an indoctrinated religion. Etymologists and lexicographers have either not taken care, or overlooked to trace the origin of the prefix %u201Cism%u201D. It is my contention that it has its etymological origin in the Sanskrit word %u2018asmi%u2019, which means, %u201CI am%u201D. Obviously the %u201Cego%u201D of %u2018I am%u2019 tends to smack of %u2018fanaticism%u2019. The Christians who conveniently named their own religion as %u201CChristianity%u2019, began naming other religions as Mohammedanism, Sikhism, Buddhism and so on. History cannot that, before the onslaught of Islam and the deluge of Christian torchbearers%u2019, there was no religion in this country that is called India. The inhabitants, in a general way called their Earth %u2018Bharatha%u2019. Before the invaders and intruders, there was only %u2018people of Bharatha practicing %u201CSanathana Dharma%u201D which also encompassed the more ancient inhabitants of this subcontinent. I detest the affix %u2018Ism%u2019 which has its etymological origin in the Sanskrit word %u2018asmi%u2019, which means, %u201CI am%u201D. Obviously the %u201Cego%u201D of %u2018I am%u2019 tends to smack of %u2018fanaticism%u2019.Immortal Bharathi wrote under the Sarcastic Title 'Bharatha Jaathi' "All the people of this Great Bharatha are Bharthias Which ever God they worship, be they Chritians Mohammadians,Parsis, or Wo
