by traveller on Dec 24, 2007 11:58 AM  Permalink

India require a person like modi.He is the new face of strong india.A man who is tough on policies and with his administative skill can take India to new heights. He should be the PM and should be supported by all peoples, be it hindus, muslims, christians etc.
I feel that we have a lot of leaders, but Modi has that extra energy and dedication to represent a corrupt free India. He doesnot favour anyone unless he feels its good for the nation. Its not too far that he will lead us to a new era.MODI INDIA IS WITH YOU!!!

Why should anybody visit a Mosque or Dargah????????
by Avinash on Dec 24, 2007 11:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pointing to a dargah near the BJP office, Afzal >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kadiwala says, "Modi has never visited the dargah. It is a stone's throw away from the BJP office but he has never bothered to come..........why the followers of any other religion visit a place of worhsip of muslims when they have no qualms about shouting through loud speakers five times a day "there is no god but Allah" and redicule the gods of all other religions?????????????????? Does Allah have monopoly over the heaven or hell??????? I don't visit even places of whorships of hindus as there is no convlusive evidence of existence of any god!!!!!

Mr.Shaikh, how many muslims have voted for Mr. Modi? Yes, I agree with you that a CM (not mere politician) represents the entire population of a state. So the best thing for him to do is to avoid going to any place of worship (including that of his own).

ha ha ha

"no conclusive evidence of existence of any god!!!"

If conclusive evidence could be given, then God would be just another "thing" like your computer.

God's existence can never be proved. You need to feel it.

The Muslims believe that "there is no god but Allah" and the Christians believe that those who believe in any other gods (other than their holy trinity) are fit for permanent residence of hell. The gods of semitic religions are jealous unlike the gods of the "pagans" !!!

Your comments are not matured enough my friend.
maybe you dont want to see the truth but just try not to make any slander to muslims and Allah.because he is not just muslim`s God. He is the God of every creature in the earth and universes. And afterlife you will learn this fact sorrowfully but it will be too late for you to regret.

Support Inclusiveness
by Rahul Balagopal on Dec 24, 2007 11:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am certain it is very uncomforatble being a muslim in gujarat(or for that matter anywhere in India), no body likes a government that has a stated policy against them.
I feel the big responsibility for creating these polarising forces goes to the so called muslim leadership in India, they have always chosen to force secular parties to support religious fundamentalism and weaken our constitution rather than embrace democracy and the rule of law. I have never seen them support the Indian constitution and are lways happy passing fatwas and firing up passions, only to seek the constitution's protection in the face of retribution.
The one and only way forward for our country is inclusiveness and that can happen when we forget religion caste, creed etc. and focus on building better institutions to protect our rights- Yes, an old idea but the only one that works!

you have hit the nail on the head sir.,
Hope many muslims read this message & only hope they say that country comes first & then comes religion.. unless they say this first, every thing they want & do will be eyed with suspicion,
In fact I would go a step further & say the Immams & Mullahs (In our beloved India) takes the first intiative, because history shows that fortunatly or unfortunatly the community blindly follows them!!!!!

Useless article
by Chintan Khakhariawala on Dec 24, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Useless article. Have you ever seen Modi visiting any temple? So why should he visit a Dargah? Further, a state develops economically, how will it differentiate in trickling down the benefits based on religion? And if the applications of muslims for the jobs are not considered, why would you hold Modi responsible for that?

Please see Gujarat under right perspective
by lava Sama on Dec 24, 2007 11:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Muslims have to understand that they have to change their line of thinking. They have to ensure that their members become well educated, enterpreneurial (they have been excellent in arts for centuries) and also move on with times. If a chief minister does not visit a dargah, please do not take that as a communal attitude. He is a Hindu and he follows his faith and so he wants to visit temples that is all.Mr. Modi does not use very tactful words to get your votes. He speaks plainly and very clearly.
If you see "Sachar committee" report (that every muslim wants to be implemented), it clearly states that the average muslim in Gujarat is better off than UP, Maharashtra and even Tamilnadu. The media wants you to remember Godhra 2002, because it knows it hurts your community. Look at people sleeping on various riot cases, whether it is Mumbai, delhi etc...So Godhra was an unfortunate incident. I would like the Muslim community to take the lead and work with Modi to ensure Gujarat remains the most respected state in India. I am quite sure, if you take the initiative and put forward to him, he will make it happen. My request is, don't ask favours because you follow a particular religion. Put a blueprint on the needs of education, eradication of poverty, creation of jobs for the districts of Gujarat, My sincere belief is that he will get that done for you.

Muslims, its time to get out of the ghetto mindset...
by Demo-crazy on Dec 24, 2007 11:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The article shows a negative approach of the few Muslims the author may have met and spoken to.

By quoting extensively about their thoughts and generalizing, the author tries to paint a negative picture of what to expect from Modi in future.

I would not like a politician to visit any such religious places and create a false sense of support or otherwise for or against any group. A political leader should ideally appear neutral and be fair to all - which is a tall order to expect of any normal politicians - neither Sonia, nor Modi are of that order. But, Modi atleast is open about what he practices. Sonia and her men have always abused the trust of people - look at their silence in case of Tytler now. They do not mind speaking of justice on one hand, and instigating people to committ riots on the other.

Muslims would do well to be posive, pragmatic and take an approach of cooperation rather than fall prey to the thoughts of greedy instigators. BJP is not anti-minority. It is patently against unfair appeasement or of painting all minority as supporters of terrorism. Speaking against terrorism is not speaking against minorities. Only those minorities who feel that way, know the reasons for their guilt. If they stand against terrorism, it is easy for them to stop events like Godhra, and so, the aftermath of it.

Let people stop this blame Modi for all evils facing Gujarat or the minorities. Its time for introspection by minorities too to change their attitude.
