M K Gandhi
by Rajagopal Harihara on Dec 17, 2007 06:37 PM  Permalink

We all adored Gandhi for all he did for makinbg the British decide on India's Independence.
It may be argued that the British could not hold on to this country after the terrible Word War II.
But he also did many stupid things like, proposing Jawahar Lal's name as PM when Vallbhai Patel had overwhelming Majority suppot in the CWC. The reason was that
he was so conscious of his name as Mahatma being tarnished by proposing a Gujarathi as the first PM of this Country. He knew very well that Patel was the right man. That was the first great blunder even before we got Independence.
He made India give away 55 croses to Pakistan even though thousands were dying of Hunger in this country at that time.
He gave the name of Gandhi to Feroz, Indira's husband. This stupidity is still ruling and ruining our country.
So the saying " Great people do great many blunders" M K Gandhi is no exception.

Gandhi and Khadi Gramodhyog

Every character in history has been looked at by authors, historians and writers critically, their deeds pondered upon from different points of view and events judged from the distance time accords us.

Why not look at Gandhi, Nehru, the Moghuls, the Slave dynasty, the Pandavas etc; analyse their thoughts, actions critically? After all no one person has been so saintly as to have acted out of the goddness of his heart ro this person would not be human. I see insults to monkeys and animals that show how ignorant people are thinking that you insult by comparing to animals. Monkeys are intelligent in their own right the same as donkeys or asses. Just because one person does not know how to dance or listen to someone else's orders, it does not make him or her a fool. Every creature has his or her way of life and men are idiots to expect animals to obey their every wish.
That said, I hope the next action that the CHariman of Khadi takes will be to disband tha institution that has effectively annulled the creativity and diversity of the srtisans of India, forcing them to produce substandard article of no tradtional or artistic value identical in all the states of our country.
India is a vast country, the artistic and architectual diversity is a treasure, heritage to be conserved jealously. Instead the govt. has wiped off the slate everything.
Try and buy some typical momento of your visit to another state, you will end up buying what Khadi shops in your state sell!

Truth

Gandhi deserved to die. He paid for all the sins he did from 15th Aug 1947 onwards. He made the whole country as a bunch of shikandi for his entire lifetime singing paens of non violence. If not for Gandhi, we would have got independence 10-20yrs earlier. Moreover he thrust on us the division of the nation, made us to succumb to Kashmir raid of Pakistan. He should have been killed around 1920s! Pity his death came so late.

He never co operated with any educated leader. He became popular by fooling the idots and illiterates of that time. he was extremely selfish

Holier tha Thou Attitude...

This nation has a habit of worshipping people. We like to make mahtmas out of everybody. Why can't anybody critisize Gandhi. Aren't we a democracy?, then why this special status to Gandhi. He was a great man, but, at the end he was a man. He had his own weaknesses, his own flaws, why can't we look at them. Isn't it a fact that the foreign policy of India in 50s, 60s and even 70s was guided by Gandhi's morality principles, rather than the interests of India ?? Didn't India paid 55 Cr to Pakistan, inspite of Kashmir attack, just beacoz of Gandhi's stubborn attitude ?? and who doesn't knows his famous blackmailing technique of fast unto death ?? Lets discuus all these things also. What say???

Some of the people who here have clearly demonstrated that man indeed came from monkeys, forget that was it not for visionaries like gandhi , tilak and the like there would be india for pakistan to attack or for that matter exist. This wouldve been another africa where the biharis punjus kannads and marathis with tamils and mallus not far behind, fighting and killing each other to death over whos cow is more righteous. India and pakistan deserve the countries states to be THIS bad and appalling because of people who think that gandhi etc shouldve been murdered. We deserve being such an financially and intellectually impoverished nation if our generations havent realised the legacy that became 1947 and the idea that it is. built on.
