Gandhi and Khadi Gramodhyog
by nadia sani on Dec 14, 2007 10:38 PM

Every character in history has been looked at by authors, historians and writers critically, their deeds pondered upon from different points of view and events judged from the distance time accords us.

Why not look at Gandhi, Nehru, the Moghuls, the Slave dynasty, the Pandavas etc; analyse their thoughts, actions critically? After all no one person has been so saintly as to have acted out of the goddness of his heart ro this person would not be human. I see insults to monkeys and animals that show how ignorant people are thinking that you insult by comparing to animals. Monkeys are intelligent in their own right the same as donkeys or asses. Just because one person does not know how to dance or listen to someone else's orders, it does not make him or her a fool. Every creature has his or her way of life and men are idiots to expect animals to obey their every wish.
That said, I hope the next action that the CHariman of Khadi takes will be to disband tha institution that has effectively annulled the creativity and diversity of the srtisans of India, forcing them to produce substandard article of no tradtional or artistic value identical in all the states of our country.
India is a vast country, the artistic and architectual diversity is a treasure, heritage to be conserved jealously. Instead the govt. has wiped off the slate everything.
Try and buy some typical momento of your visit to another state, you will end up buying what Khadi shops in your state sell!
