Should investigate the financial contributions of China to the Left in India
by Sharad on Aug 20, 2007 08:33 AM  Permalink

The media should start investigating the financial contributions being made by China to the left parties and individuals in India. You can always find the truth when you investigate the trail of the money.

i would have never thought i would side with the congressee croocks but if anybody could be worse its the bloody indian communist traitors. they appear to take orders from their masters in peking.
actually, i am not quite clear on the merits of this nuclear agreement as far as the interest of india is concerned. there has been a lot of discussion back and forth on this. however, as i see, there has not been clear delineation as to what india is really giving up. the gains are somewhat more clear.
in any event the communists, the indian ones, are the scum of the earth. they simply remain india mired in economic backwardness as that seem to serve the interests of their chinese masters.

There could be some demerits in the deal, but it will make India stronger on the Energy (therefore the Manufacturing Front) and Nuclear Technology front. India would become a serious competition to China in the manufacturing and technology area. That is why the Chinese are playing our leftists against the deal. They are themselves developing nuclear reactors on a massive scale.

We should investigate the money contributions being made by the Chinese to our leftist parties and individuals and expose them.

the nuclear deal

The question is : what roles are we(Indians) want to play towards Americans ? Do we want to become friends(on equal and respectable terms, not being silent always, but questioning things at times)or we want to be silent followers(like a slave follows its masters)? India for years have the traditions where the young (or mostly females)didnt have the rights(culture) of questioning the elders in the family, followers of Gandhi hardly questioned him(b, blind ring Netaji), blindly following of leaders were the norm. This has been wrongly encouraged and advances for years. British education may have changed that a wee bit in some parts of India but Indians even today dislike making questions or objections to popular beliefs. We think it smart to allay with the flow. Americans on the other hands encourages debates, they questions and try to convince them in and out. So when the left are raising questions on 123, many of us getting furious coz we dont like people question us, in turn make us think more. Why can India have open debates on TV, on university campuses, on senates where Sonia, Karat, Advani, Mayawati, etc come and have healthy debates and put forward their points in support and against this treaty ? Why cant we read the treaty ? Why can the Indian nuclear scientists debate ? Why cant Amrtya Sen on one side and Dr.Bhgwati on another side debate?
Why cant we take snap pools on the treaty alone ? Where is the question of govt falling ? We can oppose issues at times or suppo

We can oppose issues at times or support but why cant it be constructive and healthy manners ? Debating, questioning is healthy sign, it will enrich democracy. All we do is quarrelling mostly.

When we dont have anything constructive to speak we disrupts others. We should appreciate left for raising issues, they may be wrong but they have the right to question. We shouldnt negatively criticise them but listen and the best brain from capitalist world should learn to convince the so called hated commies.

the best brains from capitalist world should convince the so called hated commies.

Now though its a fashion to blame the left, bjp or any for us. We must realise capitalism alone cant solve all problems of society. Socialism alone cant solve all either. Both has some good points, some bad points. 40 years of socialism may nt be bad but it was in the wrong hands. Neheru was a capitalist agent with a socialist mask. Similarly a hardcore capitalist country like USA has far more sensitive attitudes towards the poor and have nts.Their progress is mostly inclusive not exclusive. Warrent Buffet can make huge money with the help of capitalist systems, thats nothing wrong, in fact great but he also can donate a huge chunk for social cause. Having the ability to earn money is one thing and luxury beyond limit is another thing. No matter how much progress we make, Indian bussiness tycoons are far behind to match their us counterparts. Philanthropy is big part of us society. We pi

We pick the wrong stuffs easily but we hardly bother to pick the brighter sides of capitalist systems, we spend our energy in blaming the communists. India needs both capitalist parties like cong, bjp and parties of poor like cpm, cpi etc. It will always keeps things in balance till we evolve into mature and sensitive capitalist society. Tolerance of culture, views and values has been hallmark of Indian civilisation. We must evolve consensus out of diverse views. A very healthy, vibrant democracy in the last 60 years was one of India's biggest achivement and its our strength. Multi-party system will make it richer. USA is a democratic country and it will always value these values. Its our responsibility to understand the inner meaning of the treaty. If we dont be smart USA cant help us. But if we behave in mature manner, they will respect us and we will become friends not a silent follower of US policies.

Go ahead with the deal full speed
by Vishnu Sharma on Aug 19, 2007 09:20 PM  Permalink

But give the Scientists at BARC a deadline to come out with a Thorium solution to the problem.
This is not easy. Our scientists have been working at this for quite some time.

Thorium, as well as uranium and plutonium, can be used as fuel in a nuclear reactor. Although not fissile itself, 232Th will absorb slow neutrons to produce uranium-233 (233U), which is fissile. Hence, like 238U, it is fertile. In one significant respect 233U is better than the other two fissile isotopes used for nuclear fuel, 235U and plutonium-239 (239Pu), because of its higher neutron yield per neutron absorbed. Given a start with some other fissile material (235U or 239Pu), a breeding cycle similar to, but more efficient than that currently possible with the 238U-to-239Pu cycle (in slow-neutron reactors), can be set up. The 232Th absorbs a neutron to become 233Th which normally decays to protactinium-233 (233Pa) and then 233U. The irradiated fuel can then be unloaded from the reactor, the 233U separated from the thorium (a relatively simple process since it involves chemical instead of isotopic separation), and fed back into another reactor as part of a closed nuclear fuel cycle.

Much development work is still required before the thorium fuel cycle can be commercialized, and the effort required seems unlikely while (or where) abundant uranium is available.

If the US pull the plug on us because we tested
We have something to fall back on.

Manmohan, Left and the BJP
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Aug 19, 2007 06:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

My good suggestion to Manmohan. Go ahead with the deal. It's a lifetime oppportunity to be a serious player on the global stage. Don't wait for the Left to withdraw support and crow in the media - kick Karat out and tell him the Left's no longer part of the government. Take the BJP's support to keep the government going. You can even dump the Maino family in that case. The BJP's noises over the deal are tactical - they're the ones who made us a full-fledged nuclear power and changed our status - positively - with the US dramatically. Their so-called opposition to the nuke deal is not serious and Man knows it. That would mean accepting the so-called "Hindu communal" tag, but Manmohan should'nt mind. If he grasps this challenge, he can get rid of both the Mainos and the Chinese agents, who are actually working to further China's hidden agenda. The media, the Leftists and the NGOs (I mean the Patkars, Bidwais and the Arundhati Roys) will scream murder, but Manmohan will join the illustrious company of the late Narasimha Rao, the one and only real visionary Prime Minister India had, who lifted Bharat out of the Nehruvian-Marxist-Islamist morass and made us an economic powerhouse. The BJP continued the great work Rao had done. If Dr. Manmohan fails to rise to this occasion, and capitulates before the Karat-Yechury-Hu Jintao mafia, India will suffer grievously for decades. In that scenario, Manmohan can look forward to an assured place in the dustbin of history.

Dear Iyer , I stoutly agree with you. The PM must not worry from the politicions and rather must work like a professional to his job. During Narasimha Rao ' tenure Manmohan was the the undetered finance minister tough enough to raise the foreign exchange virtully from ZERO figure and today we are to enjoy the fruit of foreign exchange of about 200 billion dollors because of Manmohan who had the good rapport with IMF and World Bank under Narasimha Rao' PMship. So Manmohan Singh must again rise to the occassion for the N-deal.BJP can not afford to go against. Thank you Iyer !

We request Dr. Singh to go ahed with the deal and sign it. BJP will support it for sure as they can't go against what people want.

Dr. Singh's name will go down in the history books as a great visionary India had. he will be remembered as boldest PM, India ever had.

N-deal: Left rules out any compromise
by damodaran mohan on Aug 19, 2007 06:04 PM  Permalink

Ok, left need not compromise. Now China is offering to Pakistan similar 123 agreement. Do the left welcome it ? When will they graduate out from the lotus eaters club of the days of romanticism of unending coffe shop discussions about communism and ADDA in the by-lanes of college square ? Look what is the condition of Industry in Bengal to-day ! Why cannot our left change and learn from Russia and China at least about modern statecraft of 21st century to safeguard national interest ?

LET US BE CLEAR......
by UmaShankar SathyaKumar on Aug 19, 2007 06:02 PM  Permalink

In the real NEW world, America need India and India need America.... In a multi-polar world, America has very few friends...countless enemies....It is necessary and in the best interest of Americans to work with Indians to be friends...

The US government debt grows by about $1.3 billion per day and has now crossed more than $13.2 trillion dollars. The US private household debt has now crossed more than $14.7 trillion and half of these debts have been incurred after 1998. The fact is that the expanding consumer debt drives the US economy. The US treasury receives about $1.3 trillion from taxes, the Indo-US nuclear deal is $25 billions and there are several sales by US to follow such as Boeing planes, F-16s, space technology..... The US now very desperately needs a growing partner and friendly country to make more money with depleting US economy. Also, a big voice to support its decisions from Asia on its foreign policies.

America is bankrupt. So, they need ASIAN money to buy their bread and butter by selling Nuke or whatsoever technology....

There is nothing wrong to get the nuke technology. If they try to screw India, screw them back like they have done to Germans in 1940-70's. USE AMERICA....

The lefts in Bengal made millions poor!! That%u2019s their big achievement to date..... Please.... NEVER VOTE TO LEFTS....

At least economic policies of Manmohan made millions of Indians to eat three meals a day.. I am one among them...

Jai Hind
