Manmohan, Left and the BJP
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Aug 19, 2007 06:06 PM

My good suggestion to Manmohan. Go ahead with the deal. It's a lifetime oppportunity to be a serious player on the global stage. Don't wait for the Left to withdraw support and crow in the media - kick Karat out and tell him the Left's no longer part of the government. Take the BJP's support to keep the government going. You can even dump the Maino family in that case. The BJP's noises over the deal are tactical - they're the ones who made us a full-fledged nuclear power and changed our status - positively - with the US dramatically. Their so-called opposition to the nuke deal is not serious and Man knows it. That would mean accepting the so-called "Hindu communal" tag, but Manmohan should'nt mind. If he grasps this challenge, he can get rid of both the Mainos and the Chinese agents, who are actually working to further China's hidden agenda. The media, the Leftists and the NGOs (I mean the Patkars, Bidwais and the Arundhati Roys) will scream murder, but Manmohan will join the illustrious company of the late Narasimha Rao, the one and only real visionary Prime Minister India had, who lifted Bharat out of the Nehruvian-Marxist-Islamist morass and made us an economic powerhouse. The BJP continued the great work Rao had done. If Dr. Manmohan fails to rise to this occasion, and capitulates before the Karat-Yechury-Hu Jintao mafia, India will suffer grievously for decades. In that scenario, Manmohan can look forward to an assured place in the dustbin of history.
