With due respect to japanese interests in world politics and at a young fast developing nation like ours they should closely watch their giant neighbour CHINA,a country with a socialist mask but having imperialistic will at heart. As goes the Old adage " When China Awakens the World Will Tremble "
It is not clear what Japan means when it says that it will express it's position on the Indo-US nuclear deal. This country has made use of nuclear energy for "peaceful" purposes but successive governments have kept the risks under wraps. There was a recent newspaper report about a leakage at one such site. There have been others earlier and this was corroborated by people during our visit to Japan. It is surprising that a country with a pacifist philosophy should risk the health of its citizens through the "peaceful" use of nuclear energy. The fact is that nuclear energy is never safe whether used for making weapons or for" peaceful" purposes. The effects of uranium can last for generations and it would be wise for people across the world to make themselves aware of what their governments fail to tell them.

I was thinking on your line sometime back. Will you elaborate more?
india should sign tne agreement with u.s.a but develop its own resources.america will try always to see his/her interests first.america shold make india sixth permanent permanent member of united nation.give hire role in globalization.use of nuclear weapons shall be banned by international treaty.in this way pakistan is also has to sign the treaty.biggest danger is from terrorists.ameriac should control uranim in pakistan than india.any time uranium of pakistan can fall in to the hand of terrorists.if insists of manufacturing nuclear bombs.then all five members sholuld come to rescue.true face of each member will come to the front.world will know about it.make this world more peaceful.matter for india is of forty years only.after this india should have independent policy.america will surely twist the arm of india in worldly relations.be careful about this.

India do have it's own Nuclear resource ,thats why it is intrested in this 123 aggrement. But it will prove to be a great mistake ,if india is not allowed to test nuclear weapons as mentioned by US today.Insia should also consider other countries like France for nuclear fuel.

Is India allowed to to carry out nuclear tests now? Answer is NO. After the last tests, sanctions were imposed on India and that still continues. 123 agreement does not include military angle; it is only for civilian purposes. After signing the agreement, if India blasts a nuclear device, rest assured, hell will break loose and again there will be calls for sanctions etc. But till that time, India is in a position to build up power generation capacity as much as we want with independance for reprcessing the spent fuel. This is our main interest in the deal. For a moment, let us ask the question,"What is America's interest"? Their interest is to get India's friendship and to gang up against China, if need be in future. In crude terms, the Us expects that India shall carry out the Anglo-Saxon legacy in this part of the world. If one wants to get something, he has to give something. We surely will be required to give away some independance in our foreign policy mainly with regards to Iran. If for enhancing our self interest, we have to sacrifice Iran's interest to some extent, so let it be. Politics is not morality. During the Chinese aggression, the marxists went to the rediculus extent of coming out with the slogan, "China's Chairman is our Chairman". In reply to that nobody will shout, "America's President is our President". But we must have faith in Indian nation. If we can become one of the largest conomy, we can tackle US pressure as well. Regards

completly agree with Sankar's view... we have time and again projected ourselves as champions of third world. and when we require their support on any issue... we never seem to get it. Lets face it... we have to cosy up to US and Europe if we are to become a developed nation. We need US technology, european money, isreal millitary knowhow. At the same time lets also admit... the nuclear energy would reduce to some extent our energy dependence on oil read muslim world. Must clarify though, we have to become west strategic partners at equal level and not a poodle like Blair was to Bush.
