When an American Warship berthed near Madras Port, the sailors roamed the streets of Chennai without any papers. No Passport, No visa and no stamping was done. Our Immigration officials get tough only with Indians. They always rollout a red carpet to anybody from west.

I all fairness I have to ask you this would the US customs allowed a US pp holder mother with a child having an Indian Passport having forgotten her old Indian passport with US Visa; and then claim that we have been visiting every 12 months, I will fax you the Visa....... holding a US passport does not make you god or entitle you to any extra special privilege YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE LAW OF THE LAND Guys before bending backwards and claiming that our rules suck please get me one instance where the customs or any other country would have allowed entry to the person in similar position. Bring me one instance where a person in a similar situation was allowed entry and then speak%u2026.. While I know it hurts when one is not able to meet ones family and feel bad about it; but that reason does not alone condone you from following the Law. Further I am sure if the family returns back with the valid documentation this deportation will not be held against them but try doing it with any other European or north American country well %u2026%u2026kiss your entry rights good bye

the writing on the wall is clear. mohamadization of india is continuing at a steady pace. now there is a rumor that indian presidency and vice-presidency is going to be reserved for mohamadans. all it will take is a hung parliament and islam will rule in india from presidential palace.
Many folks from EU and US get visa on arrival, but those folks are amost always ghoras, the uber-folks - Indians are crap and so they are treated as crap by ths useless, corrupt, filthy imperious Indian babus. So much for India's 'dream' of becoming a favoured tourist detination (read for Ghoras only).
Government (and PSU) employees in india are always indolent, mostly inefficient and often corrupt. Once in a while, particularly when there is no chance of extra benefit, they enforce the law very well.
Indian immigration officials are shamelessly corrupt. They allow people with fake passport to land back in India, from the Gulf. They allow crores of counterfiet rupees to be brought through baggage. All they want is few thosand rupees as bribe.
THe little girl and her mother do not know how to buy these Indian official. In the US, corruption is not that rampant as in India. Usually both the briber and the bribed will get jal term.
some people justify the immigration officials. It is really sad. The girl came with her Indian mother with a valid US passport. She too is Indian. But when Indians go to America, they are still Indian. That means it is a foreign country for Indians. But India is not a foreign country for an Indian. Moreover, the immigration could have checked the database or could have called the Indian embassy in Washington, DC before deporting. They did not do it. Also, why a US passport holder of Indian Origin needs a visa? The visa or passport are no big things. The clerks at the embassies, simply stamp them for an application fee. Foreign Inidian
