Who is faithful to whom
by VIPUL MATHUR on May 05, 2007 05:10 PM  Permalink

If J&K is an integral part of India as always said by the government why in that integral part people not belonging to J&K can work, live and purchase land etc. Let our government first integrate J&K with India in full only after this we can mix with the people there, can work for them, can build a fresh society there. What about people of J&K expelled or compelled to leave J&K by Muslim Terrorists, should Muslims living in rest of India be given same treatment.
Each and every muslim in India is not in favour of India or -read- favours Pakistan by heart. May be under social and political compulsions they speak pro India. But even people lile Rubiya Sayeed the one time CM of J&K ask for Mercy to Parliament attackers in lieu of mercy to POW in Pakistan. It implies that the cause due to which they are caught is worthy of mercy.
Army spending is J&K the state from where not a single ruppee is collected by the government (or say negligible), we are spending on troops, upkeep of society, running social and government schemes out of the money collected by the government through Income Tax and other Taxes of the people of rest of the country where they can not live. One can write about this to any extent.
On the other hand had Pakistan favoured independent Kashmir why it has failed to make it an independent Republic in all these years, the part under its control. Pakistan could have easily got support of practically all Muslim countries in the world, but due to hidden agenda to merge it in its union, they are raising hue and cry on a daily basis.
The people in Pakistan are leading miserable life but muslims of India do not understand this or they are just anti-establishment.
This is the real truth and realiy.

Kashmir problem
by mr c on Apr 29, 2007 10:27 AM  Permalink

In the best interest of the people of Kashmir, it is better that Pakistan leave it for India and concentrate their efforts in improving their economy. India should declare Kashmir as a union territory and must be ruled by the centre only for atleast next 25 to 30 years so that all the people who have been fomenting trouble die.

kashmir is bleeding pakistan
by VENURAJA gopal Bowenpalle on Apr 28, 2007 11:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kashmir is bleeding the Pakistan and not India.
If I were a Pakistan prime minister I would immediately find a solution to this problem very peacefully with India so that the Pak army would not have a hand in it. It is like keeping the army where it belongs to.
It is for the Paklistan army,by the Pakistan army,to the Pakistan army that Pakistan lives !!
What a tragedy , in 60 years time , Pakistan could not find its roots in democracy. It was born on the basis of religion and is still depending on its army for food !!? It should have been the otherway round.
Pakistan is simply bank rolling the terrorists and you have to bank roll them to keep them, and motivate them to kill people.
There are many foreign powers who are interested in destabilizing India so that their imperialism would spread in Asia without a very powerful democratic country as a barrier. And Pakistan play in to their hands just for food.
Otherwise it could have already become another Afganistan where people are cutting grass and boiling them and eating it is every day reality.
Pakistan already occuipied 2/3 of Kashmir. The rest of it , Pak wanted through UNO. It was decided for a plebicite to decide the fate of kashmir valley. After Sheik Abdullah compaigned for India on this issue ,Pak knew that it would not win the plebicite. And immediately it had withdrawn its demand for plebicite. It now tries to gain by the handiwork of terrorists !!
What a shame !
The state of Jammu and Kahmir have Hindus in Jammu (40%), In Ladhak, Buddists are in majority.
So what is left is only a Kashmir valley. If you think that if we give away Kashmir valley on a platter ,Pakistan would be happy and will not kill people , you are living in fool's paradise. What Pakistan wants is disintegration of India ,completely.
First Pakistan should learn to hold itself. Sooner or later Pakistan would sure to become another Afganistan. It's foreign exchange reserves is in precarious situation. It is completely dependant on American aid. It is now economically propped by US.
So what we want then ?
India want a democratic Pakistan to co-exist with us with a unified currency along with Mynmar (Burma) as well. We all of us together can be very stong on the world stage. We want Pakistan to exist. We do not want its disintegration. Any right minded person will tell you that a democratic Pakistan is far better than no Pakistan at all from the India's context. A poor pakistan , a replica of Afganistan is a problem for India. We do not Osama Bin ladden like terroris leaders striking at our buildings where civilians live.
We do not drug cartels to dictate terms to politicians. What all we want is democratic Pakistan and everybody knows that Kashmir issue would be automatically solved.

So, They will never tire even if kashmir is given. They don't want to improve nor will they let anyone improve, They will nver progress nor will they let any progress. Such people and country should be made to realise the futility of violence for it only self anniliates.

Kargil Could Have Turned Nuclear?
by Khandu Patel on Apr 28, 2007 06:05 AM  Permalink

Who are you kidding? I am afraid that the whole exercise in rapproachment in which the Bharat Government has invested so much prestige is completely misguided. On this occassion it is Sardar Mohammad Adbul Qayyum Khan, but in one guise or other Pakistan from its President downwards has harped on this theme that somehow nuclear armagadon would have happened if as in this case America had not brokered a ceasefire for Pakistan to save face. Pakistan's hopes of using its special relationship with America to win American support against Bharat came crashing down. Bharat failed with Vajpayee too weak to withstand American pressure rather than using the opportunity to defeat the Pakistan army once and for all. Pakistan's nuclear arsenal presents a hollow threat to Bharat as it would invite sure and certain of all that is Pakistan. As we have seen with Afzal Guru, even the bravest of Muslims are not keen to go to paradise but would rather linger for the rest of their life in prison, and I dare say Pakistan under pressure would have equally wilted. I see that Pakistan has been going by its old game plan unchanged by keeping Kashmir in tension and turmoil, and the rapproachment has been nothing but a farce. Pakistan may not wish it, but a war undertaken under Bharat's initiative will not be a tame affair.
