Hinduism is the root of all evil in India.

1. It explicitly creates irrational hierarchy among Indians which is against Article 14. 2. Parents covertly train their children to coerce other children as per the above hierarchies. I deplore any other religion that does this.
I would like to know the purpose of this type of article from a guy who is NEVER going to return to INDIA. His kids will never face the Reservation issue so he is behaving like a good man. I am also an IITian and I know the truth about the merit of SC/ST candidates in IIT very well. I see these reserved candidates every year in front of IIT Professors rooms at the end of Major Exams. Its looks so bad when these guys cry in front of Professors to get the passing marks. Anyway, more than 50% reserved seats are bagged by MEENAs from rajasthan and very few of the other reserved candidates come to IIT. These PPl then stay in IIT for more than 6-7 years before being thrown out or passed after the Profs have pity on them.
So I guess all this talk of rural india and rural connection is BULLSHIT. The only thing count is MERIT and rest all is just time pass. And OBC candidates do not need the CRUTCHES of reservation. They are as meritorious and were never looked down upon. LORD KRISHNA ( an OBC YADAW in Arjun Singh's Qouta book) is GOD of all HINDUS and worshipped by Upper Castes.

Do our institutes connect with the real India?

I have been wondering why has there been hardly any world class invention or research at IITs. Is it because these institutes are serving only as a source of raw material suppliers (brain drain) to the west? Otherwise, they hardly have any relevance in India.
I cant seem to get what Tarun really wants. What we need today is to dismantle the total reservations sector and not fancy talk. When that happens ideas will come in from every society and class he just mentioned. But when you want to compartmentlize the results are going to be the same. He is a Jain does he know that till recently the Jain community was supposed to be a forward class and I have seen they are not as the public has made them out to be rich fat money lenders. So if the qualification of an enterant is on reservation it should be only on the economic, provided he / she has the min marks.
The author is misleading the readers by making a comparison between the pluralism in America and the issue of reservation in India. he didnot differentiate the limits to which the affirmative action in America pulls down the merit from the similar limitlessness in India. His mentioning of experience of Mr Ranjan in America is totally out of context and deceptively try to justify the reservation as a tool to achieve a 'desired heterogeneity'. dhanesh
