Rajiv was a common citizen when he was killed.
by Kiran on Jun 30, 2006 06:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I dont know why everybody is giving importance to RAJIV's assasination. He was a Ex.Prime minister of INDIA. Rajiv was an ordinary citizen when he was killed. Everyday lots of indians are dieing inside india, who worries about that???

SHASTRI was killed when he was a prime minister in TASHKENT by PAKISTAN ISI.

Whether anybody is speaking about this??.

We are shaking hands with MUSHARAAF, pakistan military leader. The same MUSHARAAF killed thousands of indian soldiers in KARGIL.

We need to change our policies my dear fellow indians.

Should we forgive the LTTE?
by G. Muralidhar on Jun 30, 2006 05:42 PM  Permalink

Yes, I firmly believe, we should forgive LTTE. It is a know case that LTTE was responsible for assasination of Late Rajiv Gandhi. At last they have acknowledge their guilt now after years of denieing, though it does not make any difference.

Our political leaders are no less than a group of terrorists serving their own cause. Our leaders are most selfish and crooked people who has divided the country on the lines of Caste, Creed, Sex, Religion and has been responsible for death of so many peopele either directly or otherwise.

LTTE on the other-hand has been waging a battle which might be correct from their point of view. Who are we to judge whether we should forgive them or not.

I look forward to response from Congress Chief, as they always claim to be heirs of the Mahatma Gandhi's legacy. If so then they should publicly acknowledge they have forgiven LTTE and help them re-start the process of negotiations with the Srilankan Government.

There is no problem on earth which cannot be solved if agreed parties sit down and maintain some restraint, as conflict has always resulted in ruins.

Here goes another of the LTTE political stunts to fool the international community. True to their nature, LTTE has once again tried to project itself the victim and involve international community. LTTE has done this time and again to buy time to build its strength, and using it to perpetrate crimes.
India should not take the bait and insist that LTTE join the poilitical discussion. By siding LTTE, a declared Militant outfit in many countries including India, India should not be seen as a state that supports terror organizations and hurt its own intrests.
At the same time India should not do anything to adversely affect SriLankan unity and sovereignty. The only way and the Right path would be to insist LTTE to shun killings and voilence and re-join the negotiations with SriLankan govt.

by ashish agnihotri on Jun 30, 2006 05:29 PM  Permalink

the apology has to be seen in context of history, why was rajiv killed? how did LTTE get so big?trained organized machine like it was? whom does LTTE represent? is india responsible for its citizens living outside? and most importantly why was IPKF sent???? i had friends killed who were in the armed forces as well my tamilian friend killed by IPKF.
hence in todays context we should'nt carry baggage of the past and help our fellow countrymen in time of need

by S.S.N.MURTHY on Jun 30, 2006 05:24 PM  Permalink

we should never forgive LTTE as they did a brutal act by killing young indian Prime Minister.First of all we should ban it and declare it as a trrorist group. Our Indian Govt. also should not interfere in the Lankan affairs.Instead Govt., should take preventive measures in stopping manace of refugees from Lanka.

Should we forgive LTTE
by Masood Ahmad on Jun 30, 2006 05:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't understand how can India take a double standard by talking to a terrorist outfit like the LTTE. Is there any doubt in the mind of ant sensible person that the LTTE is a terrorist outfit. Not only they killed our beloved Rajiv Gandhi but they are still involved in terrorist activities in our neibouring country.

A terrorist out should never be encouraged by talking to them. Rather efforts should be made to punish all those involved (including Prabhakaran).

LTTE is not sincere in apologizing. It only a tactical move by LTTE becuase the EU has also declared them as a terrorist outfit.

Hai masood,

EU & USA ban are just a act.

Even after LTTE was banned, all its leaders are operating from EUROPE only. Why are they not containing them like how they contained AL-QAIDA.

The ban on LTTE is only written. It is not implemented. It cannot be implemented by these countries including CANNADA.

As lots of TAMIL Refugees lives in their country.
What if the EU block LTTE. LTTE is the unproclaimed head of ELLAM. If EU blocks to whom they will go and speak for the return of REFUGEES.

Forget EU & USA, has srilanka banned LTTE??

FORGIVE LTTE and teach lessons to EU & USA.

Should we forgive the LTTE?
by Nirpinder Singh on Jun 30, 2006 05:10 PM  Permalink

I think that for us to forgive the LTTE, presumably for Rajiv Gandhi's assasination, they will first have to publicly ackhowledge their guilt in the heinous act, then to agree not to commit any crimes on Indian soil, and finally to agree to negotiate peacefully in Sri Lanka. The last condition, the renouncing of violence by the LTTE should be an absolute must. We should not forget that the Indian Army trained the rebels. Whatever, the reasons were, they seem to be inexcusable at this time. Perhaps the Indian Government should make an admission that they were wrong in encouraging the LTTE back then. For a peace loving nation, that India professes to be, any tendency to resort to violence should be
condemned. One can not forget that the Late Indira Gandhi encouraged Sant Bhindranwale in order to undercut the Native Opposition parties. The Sant was her downfall. Likewise Rajiv Gandhi encouraged the LTTE. God knows why. They were his downfall too. Thank heavens the subsequent Prime Ministers have not seen fit to interfere in the Internal Affairs of Fiji, or anywhere else that Indians are settled in large numbers.

LTTE asking for peace
by Samit Mathur on Jun 30, 2006 05:09 PM  Permalink

We should get ahead with the time. If they feel that they made mistake, its okay.

Further, they should shun killings and then come to the negotiating table, not killing the top commander of Lankan army and raising their regrets for killing Rajiv Gandhi at the same time.

LTTE has to show the world that they have renounced their armed struggle and should shun the weapons like IRA and after this India should start taking part activly between LTTE and Lankan govt in the peace process

Samit
