Day dreamers!
by Ruxak on Jul 31, 2006 02:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A 'so-called' journalist/columnist is one who either writes with an `agenda' to push his philosophy, his ideals or his ideas down peoples' throats OR someone who is given to sensational reporting to increase readership however stupid that is. A real journalist/columnist is one who is highlighting A TRUTH either to bring facts before the people that they were unaware of like the phone tapping incidents or Watergate or talks fearlessly against a dictator at great risk to his own life and property and family.

We all know that India/US had a nuclear deal on July 16, 2005. Mr. Bush took it back to his democratic country and the discussion is still under way. Mr. Manmohan Singh has reiterated several times that he does not intend to sign anything that has lost the essence of this July 18th deal.

So why do some day dreamer writers imagine that they can convince India that we have signed a new deal with the US. The logically flow would be the final US offer and how India reacts to it. Definitely we can make our views known if what the writer has remotely suggested comes to pass - not before. Until then, wy do we not believe our PM when he says that he will not sign a different deal?

You will not understand, Ruxak, because you have been brainwashed by the Congress and the Marxists. Are you being paid for this lunacy or are you doing it out of your own free will?

pathetic grovelling attitude.

Don't understand, why our so called intelligent PM and Secretary is scared to stand up for our country's rights? If this is the case, what quality do they have to be our PM and Secretary and rule us? Such grovelling attitude do not make men who can rule a country like ours.

Every Pak will agree to kiss Bush's feet for this. Pak keep adding a nuclear plant every 5 years either from France or China. So what does India get and do, go to the US to get its ass kicked. If these have any sence not patroism left they will reject the deal unless the conditions are reverse and safe guard India's interest.

Failure of Faith
by Nikhil on Jul 27, 2006 06:18 PM  Permalink

I can't understand what was the purpose of such N-Deal to be accepted, and what is the achievement that India will be gaining ?

If still there is possibility to refuse this deal we should try that, because it seems that we are at utmost loss.

Being Indian, we should refuse to accept these blunders that will affects overall Development along with surity of security.

Though we will be getting Cooperation for Automic development, is there any possibility that USA will defend India's interest in case of any WAR! I am sure answer will not very much different as in case of Pak-oriented-Terrorism.

I FEEL, WE ARE TARGETED BY OUR ON LEADERS !!

I doubt if PM is in his senses
by parveen on Jul 27, 2006 04:11 PM  Permalink

There is now so much of confusion in this country...
>Inflation going up
>Loan Rates increasing
>Reservation issue .. no discussion ..simple vote bank politics
>Mumbai Bomb blast .. no committment/action.. simple vote bank politics
>pakistan peace process .. what india gaining from this talk .. nothing...
>spy in the PMO office sending defense strategies/details to US .. no statement/plan

and now this new issue ...

Manmohan Singh definitely doesn't suit PM post. his too much loyality to Congress Party is ruining the country...or God knows if POWER has made him blind too...

Looks he has been told .. if you want to remain PM.. do as Sonia Gandhi says ...keep your mind aside..

reject the nuclear deal
by arun on Jul 27, 2006 03:25 PM  Permalink

Is it too late to reject the nuclear deal? Americans and Britishers are very clever negotiators, and in writing good legally binding contracts - see the NPT for instance. I guess, the most important aspect in any negotiation is we shouldn't show desperateness to achieve the deal. The deal is getting prepared as there is a value equation at both sides. I guess, now is the time to send signals to america that we are not very keen on the currently drafted nuclear deal, and we may not be able to sign it, citing the great parliament and Indian public opinion against this. A good idea is publish that "84% Indians is against signing the Nuclear deal with USA in the latest Doordarshan-MARG poll or something like that". Like they do it in CNN or ABC poll. Start saying NO to increase the value to our side and also prepare grounds before so that we can walk out of this deal, saying this doesn't meet our original agreement and the spirit of cooperation.

How we surrendered the advantage
by K.Krishna Kumar on Jul 27, 2006 02:45 PM  Permalink

Let's stop criticising the nuclear deal. Most of us would accept that US is a big market for our software products (Iam not a software engineer but purely a mechanical engineer) and it is very much necessary that we get as close as possible to US. Comprmises are way of life and it is applicable in all walks of life. If US does not honor their commitments there is always a recourse like what North Korea and Iran have done. At this juncture let us have bear one thing in mind India does not have uranium reserves to be self sufficient. We can think of self sufficiency only after we develop the breeder reactors which may take years. A bird in hand is better than 1000's in the tree.
