I was interesting to observe stark contrast between English Media ( TV News Channels) & their Hindi counterparts. While the Hindi Channels were continuously beaming Live visuals from the scene and seemed to be completely involved, the English Tv channels were simply not. They occasionally showed live feeds and mentioned the news in between other things, including a program on Flammingoes.
I am not saying who is right and who is wrong, but the difference is clear between India & Bharat. Are their two nations in one country ? One is English speaking and have purchasing power for conspicuous consumptions while the other which is emotional & speak Indian language is insignificant for the advertisers who promote westernised materialistic culture to boost the market of their products..... Emotion & ethics has no place in business.
As I watched the boy sitting 60 feets under ground and crying helplessly.. i was stunned by the thought how he would be feeling inside.. anyway he was brave enough.. to sit there and allow the rescuers to help him out..
Through this incident I would like to tell rediff visitors that.. this example resembles our country.. Today our country is in the place of the boy Prince.. sixty feets inside the pit.. and the pit is of corruption, illitracy, terrorism, dirty politics.. and many social problems..
The actual reason for why we were able to pull that boy out of the pit.. is that we were united.. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians all prayed to God and hence he was saved..
Similarly, we can save our country if we stand united against the social evils.. and the divisive forces.. and if we don't stand united.. our country will be resemblance of a "Kabaddi" game.. were the ministers are the players.. always busy in pulling each others leg.. or twisting one's arm.. and we the people will be mere admirers of this game.. standing in a corner and clapping for them..
Anyway hats of to our Army.. great job done by them as well as media..
It was most unfortunate that the boy of small age fell in the pit but shining example is that army rescued the boy.
In this connection army officer sanjay upadhyay shud be suitably rewarded along with his team.
What is most shocking and shameless is the TV channels conducted the wholeshow csomparing the efforts with mahabharat and abhimanu and so on. similarly, they reported that crores of sms messages havse been recd from the viewers. also they said that viwers all over the world have sent messages.
They also said the boy has brought together hindu muslims and all people from other relilgion under one roof.
All this talk doesnot befit the channels whose duty is to report the news in a straight forward manner and not hype it according to its need.
All is well that ends well. Indian army has once again shown that it is not only for the country's defense but also for the rescue of the civilians. Milion cheers to INDIAN ARMY.
We are all very happy that prince finally is saved! A very unindian success indeed! A lot of thanks goes to the response of the army.
But what concern me is that if similar wells are remaining elsewhere they need to be capped on war footing. The creators of such craters need suitable punishment. Why we are permitting such people go unpunished?
Some times it is good to see indians doing something more than praying.Praying is good if suitable actions are also taken along with.God helps those who helps themselves!
Hats off to Army for their tireless efforts made for rescuing the child despite all the odds. This cohesion and human approach distinguishes our nation. Equally appreciable is the role of media for airing the news in the sensible way. Mr. Hooda and Mr. Jindal also deserve the kudos for taking interest in the rescue effort. This is a rare but welcome gesture.
But, at the same time I will like to point out that there has been many precedences of young children falling in the open pits. Laborers should be supervised properly so that these accidents could be avoided in the future.
