5 yr old rescued from 50 feet deep pit
by Samit Shrivastava on Jul 23, 2006 08:38 PM

Hats off to Army for their tireless efforts made for rescuing the child despite all the odds. This cohesion and human approach distinguishes our nation. Equally appreciable is the role of media for airing the news in the sensible way. Mr. Hooda and Mr. Jindal also deserve the kudos for taking interest in the rescue effort. This is a rare but welcome gesture.

But, at the same time I will like to point out that there has been many precedences of young children falling in the open pits. Laborers should be supervised properly so that these accidents could be avoided in the future.
