Indian Meteorological Department
by Pratik on Jul 05, 2006 12:40 AM  Permalink

Dear Indian Meteorological Department,

I agree its difficult to control flooding and stuff but isnt it better that your department notify people about this in advance . So , atleast ppl
will have less trouble . We can save so much loss from this.

I live in USA and Meteorological Department in USA keep ppl well inform about hurricane, heavy rains, heavy snow . Why our Indian Meteorological Department cant do it . Its shame if government is not doing to get the advance technolgy egquipment .

Spending billions of dollar for wargoods that doesnt happen every year but things that happen every year , nothing has been to resolve that .

nothing can happen
by Bhushan Bhangale on Jul 04, 2006 10:10 PM  Permalink

I read a post from Roshan and Im don't agree with him. In US it was not only rain which created problems. It was because of heavy stroms. If it happens in mumbai then it would be much worse.

Its just rain water in mumbai and you can see the condition. You will see people complaining about things when they face and in happy times they themselves will add to the problem by neglecting things. This is called hypocrisy.

We are democratic ruled by politicians who don't work. They just take salary and the extra money. Some body asked where is the money which center has promised. The money must be already released on paper but must have gone into central and state governments own pockets.

Drainage system
by Viswanathan on Jul 04, 2006 08:40 PM  Permalink

Hi,

I'm an Indian who is currently working in UK and experienced the brute force of 26/7.

There is no accountability at all on part of the politicians (read "foolish babus"). These louts must be made to swim in the dirty murky water to experience the problems people face.

The entire disaster management programme and the promises to make Mithi river banks a living paradise was like showing a ten rupee note to a blind beggar.

But I also emphasize the Indian attitude towards littering in public places. We feel its our right to throw dirt/garbage/spit on the roads in India and expect the BMC van to come around cleaning it and thats absolutely wrong. In UK, places are clean simply because of self-involvement. All public places are spic and span because of YOU. People dont defecate
on the roads, railway tracks...

We hold partial (30%) responsibility for the problems, although those fools are not deservant of their positions in politics.

Vilasrao Deshmukh-Have a pint of fresh Mithi river water on me.
Johnny Joseph-Tu toh bach gaya re, apne aap ko transfer kara liya.
