Women Harassment by men has been there in India since quite a long time. In general, I feel that, women themselves are responsible for this largely. Consider a simple situation where-in a person (be it man or women) recruited into an organization based on some quota and not based on his qualifications. It is quite obvious for all other employees to look down at him/her. There would be so many other more deserving people who are not recruited because of this quota. Obviously the frustration shows up in the form of harrasment (I am not talking of sexual harrasment). Coincidently, it happens that most women get into organizations under the secured roof of these quotas. Therefore it is quite likely that the more educated and well qualified women unfortunately have to go through all this. Harrasment of SC/ST people by people of upper class is also common in India. And the reason for this is the same thing. An SC/ST candidate come to the examination with a mindset that 50% would be enough for him to earn a good job. The result is under-performance.
When women and SC/ST people realise this, I believe that all this harrasment will end and I am looking forward to such a day.
The last sentence of Ms.Jaisingh's article, I felt, was very close to the mark. Of late, the pronouncements and statements from the bench have left a bad taste in the mouth and one is led to think that the members of the judiciary perhaps feel themselves above the very law that they are expected to administer. They should keep in mind that the entire nation - especially in the case of the higher judiciary like the Supreme Court - look up to their words and as such they ought to exercise more care and wisdon in their choice and use of language. While the learned judges have been very free in the use of choice language when delivering sweeping and scathing judgements particularly against the political establishment, would they do the same when overturning some of the judgements of the lower courts ? I bet not !!
dear sir, to just publise your article on net so that every body should open and read it...and writing '' 'A crime that I was born woman' is not at all ok.
sonia gandhi ji is a woman, kiran bedi ji is a woman, indiraghandhi ji is a bench mark for woman growth.
kindly see there are miscreant all over the world ,where as woman speak equally bad as woman.
i have utter most respect for women, but its not ok to say ''A crime that I was born woman'.
pl take care that u have hurted other persons feelings for women.
This article brings to forefront something that we all thought is long gone out.....
The very need that such an article was required to be written tells that we are still chained in the wrong way. If the Judiciary can behave this way then sadly the future will emerge shamefully.
I present this as my request to the concerned authorities to grant the demands of the protesting lawyers...... I feel ashamed that such a thing happened in Independent India and that too in the campus of judiciary.
May we all gain wisdom to raise ourselves above such barbaric thoughts...
this justice should be hanged on the top of supreme court building..
Will the molestations, the rapes, the discrimination ever stop or one day, Madame Sonia Gandhi, Madame Sheila Dixit or Madame Priyanka Vadhera will face some unpleasent accident..

Hanged for what?? u charge a guy just because a woman says blah blah blah happened.. give me a break. Use your head. I totally agree that if this was true then some action ( not hang him for god sake) should be taken against him. I truly believe in equality. But nothing is proved. The writer is just trying to portray herself as a champion of women and anti male. This has become a fashion of late.. hasnt it. It is people like this writer who pour oil to fire. They dont like a peaceful community. The writer will make a great polititian and our friend who wrote this will be the typical sad voter who believes in her.
It is indeed a shame that till today women are treated as just an object of having sexual pleasure and are insulted time and again by this male dominated society of ours.In truth,we men are the worst creation of God.It is indeed a shame that a Judge of the high court,an extremely qualified and responsible person of the society where the onus of being fair to all and sundry rests on him, indulges in such deplorable and disrespectful comments about a senior lawyer who just happens to be a woman. The judiciary must be told that they are also human beings and not God and are liable to make mistakes. They sit and decide the faith of millions who happen to break the law intentionally or unintentionally. What happens when they commit a mistake? Arent their anybody who can sit and decide their guilt and punish them accordingly going by the law of the land? The concerned judge should not only be discharged of his duties, but shud also be adequately punished inorder to preserve the sanctity of the constitution and also maintain the fear and respect that the citizen of India have on the judiciary.I strongly deplore such practise and more importantly, such thinking by men.
We don't want the old monkey still eating banana's on the tree and shitting on the new comers, the fact is 21st century is woman Power. If some of the oldies are not able to digest this then they pls move out from workplace and do not waste oxygen of the courtrooms. Not only Woman what is the guarantee these oldies are not GAYS they might have disrespected male community as well. The whole fund they don't concentrate on job and there brain is most of the time between there legs, So how do we expect justice from these kind of people. CHIEF JUSTICE PLS CLEAN UP. WE REQUIRE MASSIVE CLEAN UP.
India today withing 10 years will be a developed country and will be in top 5 and ahead of US in less then 5 years because even if 30% people are Below Poverty line then also we have 70 Crores top Class, We have high grade challeges ahead, quite surprised there are no Waman Cells in courtrooms to complaint which is actually there is majority of the software and BPO companys to ensure dignity at work place. Juditiary should lear from India inc Tech setups international in nature. Another important fact in genetical hybrid technology woman does not even require Male to reproduce so pls be nice.
I do sympathise with your view. The judge erred in making such a statement. But i will take this opportunity to hughlight the fact that we men also get a very raw deal these days. The media just refuses to stop depicting men as incompetent, corrupt and heap various other abusive adjectives. I hope this treatment stops as well.
