It is not immigration official's racism. But it is Racism of these parents, who respect US white officials and their law but failed to respect Indian laws.
You guys travel to US for money, for US immigration you go full prepared with all documents ( even with forgery certificates, especially if you are from AP ), but if it is India you can come without anything!!! In US if your kids cry in your car, you can't even hug it, because removing out of infant chair is strong violation and you will get a ticket that would cost as much as Rs 1,00,000 / If light in car's name plate is not glowing he can give ticket. There you don't question them.
From this story it is more than obvious that they did not care to visit India for half decade neither they did now. An American visiting India in temporary visa is different from Indian origin who can settle down here.
They deserved for their mistake, and appeal for sympathy using their children's photo. Ask those stupids to post their photo. I will see how stupids would look.
Instead of sending the entire family back to USA, an option could have been given for Children and Spouse to stay in quatantine for 3 days. One of the family members could have travelled back to get the documents from USA.Fortunately till now I do not have bad experience at the airport anywhere in the world. However for sure we unnecessarily respect White Skin for no specific reason.
It is imperative to undertake international travel with valid documents on hand. Permitting entry of children without visa becomes an illegal act on the part of immigration authorities and humanitarianism can not stand to protect immigration officials concerned in absence of discretion to deal with such cases. Thic also becomes a precedent for other illegal entrees to quote humanitarianism. In this specific case, the children should have been sent to detention cell instead of deporting them and released them after the valid documents are received and verified for their validity. It is unfair to blame the immigration authority concerned for having done their job. As for the discrimination or favour alleged as done for French national, a separate enquiry need to be ordered to surface the facts.
I would not know what i would have done if I were in your place. I feel very sorry for you and your family. Actually things are still worse in India. Nothing has changed. I know what agony you are going through cause I have been in a similar situation a year ago. Nobody bothers for us and nobody cares for us. But one thing if I were to be in your place I would still have to answer the same thing. That is how did you forget the visa.

Sorry kids, your daddy aint smart.. he is plain stupid... Do you guys know how easy it is to apply for indian visas for your american children.. just send the goddamn passport and fees and a form that is on the consulate website, and you get a 5 yr unlimited visit visa by mail to your house in a week.. and if you call the consulate and say it is an emergency visit, you get it in 3-days if you fedex it... took a friend of mine to india, and a 5 yr visa no questions asked was given in about a week.. well the immigration officer could have been a bit understanding, but then you are hanging on airport officials mercy.. and the last time i checked, that is not the smartest way to travel..
So much BS....the story has too many lies... ------------------------------------------------- ....seven-year-old Viraj Shriwardhankar and his three-and-a-half-year-old brother Vrishabh..... Their elder son has a ten-year Indian visa in an old passport which the family did not carry with them. The younger son has a Person of Indian Origin card. That too the family did not have with them. -------------------------------------------------
What old passport with 10 year visa? Which passport expires in less than 10 years that you had to get a new Passport? None of the kids is more than 7 years old! If you travel to India \"so many times\", I suppose you\'d have already had a 5 or 10 year Indian Visa. I suppose you enjoy mailing papers or going to the Indian consulate in NY again and again! You can have PIO for one and not for the other? You can bring yours and not theirs. Fact is you never applied for their visas or PIO. Just didn\'t want to spend any of those $$$$$.
I am not a frequent traveller but till date I have not heard about the on arrival visa in India. How cum educated parents like you forget about the Visa knowing that both of your children are US citizens by birth? I won't imagine any other treatment if the incident would have been happen while travelling in reverse direction (from India to US). Do you think after getting the Green Card and staying in US for long time you get previledge entering India without any Visa?
I would like to congradulate the Immegration Officer for their work
1) For all those who feel ashamed of being an Indian, pls do us all a favor and stop being one.. we heard enough of this whine everytime things dont go your way.. here is a hint, you feel ashamed because YOU have VERY LOW self-esteem.. especially everytime you look at that white skin... the rest of us are just doing fine.. yes we have our faults and we will fix it.. so pls do us-the shameless, corrupt indians a favor and move on to better shores and skins... 2)What kind of an Idiot plans a vacation and does not think of getting visas.. doesnt matter you are from US or Timbaktu.. Dont blame others for your stupidity.. I bet my money that this jerk must have thought he can get away with it.. Well too bad.. i know there are some immigration officials who would have quietly let you in for a few bucks, but looks like you met the wrong (or should i say the Right) kind.. or may be you rubbed him on the wrong side with your american pasports.... I bet you & all the whiners here have learnt the lesson of their life.. get your visas before travel... and yeah, you know why india is a corrupt place?? because of idiots like you who want an easy way out of their laziness and stup
Feeling sorry for the kids!

Personally I don't feel much for the parents, they should have been a little more careful. However I feel the kids got a raw deal. Being US nationals, they are our guests, and our motto is 'Athithi Devo Bhava'. Given the circumstances, I guess the immigration expert should have shown some leniency and given a little more time to the parents to sort out the mess.

You can only talk in this tone because you have never been out of the country and can not really understand the pains and suffering we go thru the Indian immigration. Get some and talk this way.
