tread cautiously with China
by G sinha , Indiana, USA on Sep 15, 2005 08:27 PM  Permalink

china is clever , once it sees that india can become potential trouble in association with US, it has started singing better tunes.
Let us not fooled by Chinese, they are still trying to nullify Indian Nuclear and defence program by encouraging Pakistan to seek Nuclear restraint agreement with India.

We should not day dreaming.China must do the following before it's intention can be gauged

1. They ned to give askai chin back and everything that is this side of Himalaya. They have engulfed enough of land mass ( TAR) and in return have recognized very little for india till now ( just sikkim).

2. Stop arming india's adversary like pakistan

3. Support India's candidature to UN , as india did for them. Right now they are in flip flop statement and no concrete promise.

India on it's part must strengthen it's capability with the help of US. You will see then all world will be talking partnership.

INDIA-CHINA RELATIONS
by Sreenivasan Raju Aiyer on Sep 15, 2005 10:00 AM  Permalink

Looking back at history there is absolutely no reason for India and China to be enemies at all. [except for the 1962 Chinese invasion which perhaps was done under the zeal of the nascent Chinese `revolution']. At least in the case of Pakistan there is nearly a thousand year history of Moslems shedding Hindu blood which the latter firmly believe will one day be avenged as per the law of karma. It is unfortunate that the Chinese have done immense harm to humanity at large in the false pretext of "containing" India by providing nuclear and missile technology to Pakistan which in turn has sold the same in the bazaars of Al Qaeda! I wonder whether the Chinese would ever sit back, think and come to the conclusion that there is no ground at all for their animosity towards India!

Wrong Figures
by Aruni Mukherjee on Sep 15, 2005 09:13 AM  Permalink

The trade figure for 2004-05 between India and China neared $14 billion. It is rather surprising to see such an easily accessible fact being ignored by a Rediff reporter.
